To Be Framed

In a drawer in my closet I have a drawer for each child.  In it are special art projects and crafts they have made at preschool.  I cherish them.  But this weekend, my heart melted a little bit more than it already has when Wylie presented me with her special “ticket” she had made for me.

I love everything about this.  I love that she made it with me in mind.  I love that it is so raw and true.  I love that she was beside herself with pride when she handed it to me.  I know it is a treasure.

I realize it is simple.  Only a name on an index card.  To me, it is a big stepping stone because I know my baby is growing and learning…becoming bigger than the newborn I was holding just yesterday!  Her excitement for learning is tremendous.  This was just another reminder of how into learning this child truly is.

So… yes, I am sentimental and yes I will probably laminate this so it is somewhat frozen in time.  And because I am overly sentimental right now, I might even frame my sweet baby girl’s first official written present to me!
