I was not lying one bit when I commented earlier that Wylie soaked every bit of the wedding weekend in. Wylie was cursed (or blessed, not sure) with the very addictive and desireable talent of people watching and this wedding was the prime time spot for her addiction! Plus, the fact that Wylie is extremely observant in situations like this. She was probably taking fashion pointers from the gorgeous bridesmaids surrounding her (not me, but the young bridesmaids I meant!)
Anywho, with a flower girl dress hanging in broad daylight in her closet, the child has been dying to put it back on and play dress up. After first thinking I would sell the dress that they literally wore for 5 hours, I think I have decided against it! When I realized Wylie's interest in the dress, I would feel a bit guilty right now giving it away. Maybe later!
Until then, my little girl is enjoying every minute of playing "Bride" in her dress. Complete with a dress up veil, the girl proved she was present during a photo shoot!!
Our "shoot" started off pretty standard...
The headshot
The full body
The back of the dress shot
I about couldn't snap this next pic though! When I asked what she was doing she said "Looking over my shoulder. You have to look back like this mom!" (As she stared at the foyer table decor!)
Won't lie... I posed this one when I realized this photo shoot was about to turn into a mock up of the real deal. Plus I was laughing so hard at how serious she was...couldn't resist!
The gaze at your ring shot
The pose on a chair picture
Then, my never-ever-been-shy-of-a-camera-daughter started designing her own poses.
(singing a version of her "Bride Song" she created this palms up pose!
By this point, I was 100% invested in this afternoon activity! Wylie insisted that we do a "party picture" (I think she meant like a reception picture) So we proceeded to turn on the music from my phone and boogie to test out the durability of the veil , of course!! What Bailey girl doesn't love a dance party!!?!??!
Now, by this point, I am totally and 100% loving this afternoon photo shoot! And I couldn't help but do what I did next! Resting untouched from 10 years ago, at the top of my closet is my Wedding Box filled to the gills with memories galore from my own wedding! My shoes, notebooks, scrapbooks, bachelorette boa, and a mock up of the bridal bouquet I was given as an example from my florist!
What little girl who is playing Bride doesn't need for this box to come down from the top of her mother's closet?! So, of course, I grabbed a chair and continued to enjoy my afternoon of playtime with my Wylie Girl!
She continued to create her poses while I continued to direct her towards the more traditional ones!
She was very insistent upon this picture! She wanted me to know in the picture how old she was!!
Not wanting to dampen the mood or call the photo shoot to a close, this little girl continued through the rest of her necessary chores and homework rocking the veil and dress!
Every bride needs to know how to read!!
And every bride needs to know how to write her rhyming words!
What a fun afternoon of dress up with my sweet little love!
While I never want to wish away any days of my babies being "little", I have a feeling one of these days (hopefully a day far, far from now...) I will be digging for these precious and timeless pictures as Wylie prepares for her "real" bridal shoot!
Oh baby girl, you melt my heart into a million pieces! You never quit smiling and your little heart is so full of imagination and innocence! In every sense of the word, you are a girl!! My little fashionista and trendy baby girl!! I wish I could have captured in a bottle your giggles today! Together, we had a very fun afternoon that I don't ever want to forget!
I love you my little baby girl bride !! Lots and Lots!
