Dear Baby Bailey ,
Although we have yet to meet, everyday for 9 months you have been on my mind! Everyday, I sit and place my hands on my belly and just relish in the thoughts of who you are. In the beginning, I sat and constantly prayed nothing more than for you to be healthy. As the weeks moved on, my attention shifted to thinking about if you are a boy or a girl. And now, in the days leading up to your big arrival, I find myself wondering about all the small details I am about to have uncovered. Will you have hair like your brother did when he was born? Will you have dainty feet and legs like your sister did when she was born? Will your arrival be speedy like your Bess’ ?
I am so anxious to meet you, snuggle with you and see you look at me and your daddy for the first time! And while my whole entire being is so excited to finally know if you will be called Amelia Evans or if you be called Benjamin Banks- I find myself having a bittersweet moment.
I love being this close to you. I love toting you around every place I go and knowing there is no way you could be closer to me than you are tonight. I love that I can feel you hiccup at almost precisely 9 o’clock most evenings. I love that while it has not been the most pleasant feeling, for the past month, I have felt your sweet little foot jamming into my left rib cage. I wouldn’t trade a day of the past 9 months for the world! I want so desperately to hold and kiss you but I selfishly want to keep you warm inside for no other reason than I love the joy of being pregnant with you.
Your daddy and I will continue to wonder about every small details until you are ready for us to meet! Our house is already so filled with love for you. Our family fell in love with you the day we learned of you! I can only hope one day you can read these words and know how miraculous of a gift you are and how you truly are an answer to our prayers!
We love you and can’t wait to see your face!

This post is amazing...I'm wiping a tear! I was just thinking about you last night so I was thrilled to get an email from Lucy about Baby Ben. I know your bundle of joy is just as precious as all the other Bailey Bunch! I'm so grateful that everything went well and you will have sweet Baby Ben home real soon! Much love, Barbara
