These days, Baby Bailey is loving life inside the big ol’ belly but Lawdy if my fingers and ankles aren’t swelling up faster than I can blink my eyes! Actually, last night, my SHINS (yes – my shins) were so swollen you could mash fingerprints into them! To say it was attractive is such an understatement!
This week, I felt guilty as I headed out of the house to my weekly doctor’s appointment so I allowed a little friend to tag along for the entire afternoon!
We had a mommy son afternoon. After a quick trip to the Dollar Store for a Buzz and Woody coloring book to entertain us in the waiting room, we headed to “New Baby’s Doctor”!
I will never forget Charlie at this appointment. While my doctor was listening to the baby’s heartbeat on my belly, Charlie said “Mommy, do you hear that sound?” I said “Yes, I hear it. What is it?” Charlie, being such a lover of trains these days exclaimed “Listen Mommy, I hear Thomas!” And actually, listening to the heart beat did sound a bit like Thomas so he wasn’t too far off! Both my doctor and I just giggled!
Baby Bailey is making progress towards his or her arrival. Due to the very important golf tournament this weekend, I am taking it easy but we are all a little curious as to just how long this baby is going to hold out!
Although I was dilated this week, my doctor feels as though I can make it through the weekend. After Sunday night, this baby is free to come whenever he or she chooses.
That being said, should this baby want to remain baking inside come March 4th, I do have the option to be induced on that morning. Hopefully, Mother Nature will help out sometime next week or weekend! It seems that everyone around me is rooting for next weekend – we will just have to wait and see!
So throughout this 37th week of pregnancy, I will continue to tote around the baby that according to text books should be over 6 pounds (not sure I am believing this little one is that weight!) and be about as long as the prize my father and brother love to catch on their fishing afternoons… a large mouth bass!
But just so we are all clear- if I feel I can’t make it, I already have the Castor Oil lined up and on standby! And we all know I am no stranger to an OJ and Castor Oil cocktail!
