So you may ask, why was this the best concert ever? Never fear, I will share with you what made everything from our 2nd Coldplay experience wonderful.
1. They ran onto the stage with SPARKLERS!! Ya'll know me. I couldn't even take it. That right there could have been it but On No these boys had many more surprises in store.
2. They had gigantic balloons that they bounced around the crowd during their song Yellow. No surprise the balloons were also yellow but then at the end of the song, they exploded and had confetti in them. Who can't be happy with balloons filled with confetti? I have been asking since I met Bubba for my birthday for him to fill up one entire room with just balloons because they are just happy!!!
3. A fan of lawn seats, we never expect any person from on stage to visit our concert seating. But, my good ol' Coldplay boys, they are so thoughtful, they came right on out into the lawn and sang a diddy or 2 for us. Gotta love that!
4. Acoustic anything is just music to my ears. If you can take away all your glitzy music equipment and just strum a guitar, sing along and it sound good, I am a fan. Can you guess what my new boyfriends did while singing on the lawn? Sang acoustic. They rock!
5. Thanks to Mr. Vic Varner and our days as a Troubadore and Trouvere, Bubba and I both have an appreciation for so many types of music. On our Ipod there is a mix from classical to blue grass to rap to Broadway show tunes. To begin their concert, Coldplay plays classical music to the crowd, comes out on stage and gets everyone to sway and clap to the beats of the music. See, they appreciate musical roots too! Plus, it looked really cool too!
6. Finally, I will never be able to listen to Coldplay without thinking of Charlie and Wylie. Everynight for the first 6 months of their lives, they fell asleep listening to a lullaby version of Coldplay. Bubba and I also fell asleep to this because we heard it through the monitor. Swallowed in the Sea is the one song we refer to as Charlie and Wylie's song. They didn't play this at the concert which looking back was probably a good thing because I probably would have cried and then I would have looked like one of those psycho fans who stalks their bands and cries uncontrollably when they see them.
7. This is really more a sign of times. Remember when you use to go to a concert and people would wave their lighters in the dark. Last night, my new boyfriends, got everyone to do a cell phone wave. Done just like the wave is done anywhere else, except you held up your cell phones when the wave got to you. It was very cool. So remember , next time you are at a concert, don't get ready to whip out a lighter, just break out the phone. Who knew cell phone waves even exsisted? I felt enlightened!
This morning, after sleeping in (forgot what that was like) we headed to pick up the kiddos. Our concert adventure was the perfect ending to my summer! Can't wait til they return so we can hear them again!
So Bubs, thanks for a wonderful dinner and date!
