A Love Affair with Relish

I am pretty sure the love affair I had last night… with a bowl of dip… was the pregnancy talking.  However, my passion and overwhelming desire for this culinary masterpiece, the day after, has left me nothing to do but shout from the rooftops all the words that I can about this heavenly yumminess!

If you haven’t met this…

then it is pretty safe to say, your life is in no way close to being fulfilled or complete.  In fact, you should probably stop reading this blog entry and go straight to Google and buy a pallet full of this priceless relish  that clearly God himself has created!  Do you have a bucket list?  Because eating this appetizer (or turning it into a meal) needs to be on your list!  Seriously, not kidding here folks!

As a young child, I was taught the Creation story at church.  After last night, I know there is more to the story because on the 8th day God created the absolutely perfect refrigerated treat – cream cheese  and then on the 9th day, he most certainly created Pepper and Onion Relish!  He probably had to rest again on day 10 just because he had eaten so much relish and cream cheese!

Now, thankfully and fortunately, the party where this masterpiece was showcased was at my house.  So the rules for appetizer etiquette were slightly bent .  I shall not lie.  I most certainly used my finger at one point to retrieve one of  the final perfect bites from the dip bowl.  Then I calmly walked to the sink and rinsed away the evidence before the crowd noticed.  Good things I was among friends!  But the boldness of daring to use the finger speaks volumes-  I was so territorial over this dip, I was afraid to share what if anything remained!

I urge you all, go now, order this heavenly goodness, mix 1/2 a  jar of the relish with a softened block of cream cheese and serve with possibly the best chips lingering on your supermarket aisle.

For I am certain that this single appetizer is as close to perfection as it comes!

Oh, and feel free to invite me over if you make this.  I promise to be refined and classy as I bury my face in the bowl!

A special thanks:  I would be a lost sole in the world of monumental appetizers if it weren’t for my dear friend Lucy.  I owe all my undying love for this work of art to her!
