With the completion of my first trimester for Baby #4, I felt the need to reflect so that one day this child within could read my infamous blog book and learn just how I was feeling throughout these glorious beginning weeks of his or her life!
So without further ado… the following items have been ESSENTIAL to the survival of my first trimester.
Numero Uno and also my BFF #1
Ever heard this- The more hair your baby has the worse your heartburn will be? Well then folks, prepare yourselves because apparently I will be birthing a gorilla in March. While the recommended dose for this container of joy is 1 a day, this Momma pops Pepcid like they are TicTacs! I am no stranger to indigestion during pregnancy but I don’t think what I am currently experiencing is natural. In the words of our dearest Bravo friend Rachel Zoe- “This is major!”
Running a Close 2nd is…
Where has Gatorade Rain Lime been all my life? I can vividly recount the morning my eyes were drawn to this liquid goodness in the refrigerator of Durango Bagel. In a split second, my life changed. Now a self proclaimed Gatorade Rain Lime addict, there is no turning back. The truly unfortunate part of my love relationship with this Gatorade is that this one container seems to instantly require me to need my BFF #1 Pepcid. But I just can’t refrain so I deal with the pain!
And our 3rd Runner Up is…
Again, to quote the words of our favorite fashion goddess, Rachel Zoe, this truly priceless invention is “On another level!” I introduce to you my number 1 bedtime partner- The Wedge. I discovered this pillow from heaven during my pregnancy with Charlie and Wylie. I purchased it and I am proud to report not only has this wonderful wedge supported me and my growing belly through all my pregnancies but it has gained such famous attention it is rotated among dear friends during their pregnancies. Currently our famous wedge has felt the kicks of Charlie and Wylie, Ansley, Baby Taylor, Bess and now Baby #4! I am sad to report I feel the time is quickly approaching to retire our original wedge and replace it with a new one. After all these babies, our wedge is anything but a wedge but rather a flattened half moon pillow. May it rest in peace!
Fantastic Number 4
As a person who never had eaten a Little Bite muffin until about a month ago… I am in complete amazement! This is yet another item I wonder where it has been hiding all my life. So fresh, so homemade, it is really all good. The only bummer is the name of this product is no lie. Not only are these delicious muffins little but the package only has 4 in it. While I am sure this small package should be adequate for the average persons breakfast, I will not lie - it really is sad when you are scarfing down #3 muffin because you know there is only 1 left. And at this point in my pregnancy, I just haven’t been able to rationalize opening a 2nd packet. Don’t worry, I am so sure the day will come. I am just trying to show some self control for the sake of the increasing number on the scale! But oh at the homemade goodness these little muffins are!!!
Let’s hear it for #5
If I had enough intelligence to operate the extra complex remotes required to operate our downstairs TV, I would SO override Bubba’s preprogrammed selection of ESPN as our start up channel and switch it to quite possibly, no actually, hands downs the best channel in the land of TV. As if you had to ask- Baby #4 loves Bravo! We will watch anything and everything on this channel. Clearly the world around us is realizing its greatness because Rock Hill found it worthy enough to put it in HD! A sign from above I do believe!!! Since this baby has made this momma super tired lately, we can think of nothing better to do at night than cuddle up in the bed with Hank, Otis and The Wedge and watch pointless yet captivating TV. Really, there aren’t words here for my devotion to this channel. It is sad that I can love a channel. Yet again, every boy I know seems to be obsessed with ESPN and it be okay, so I can be obsessed with Bravo and should have no comments from the peanut gallery (Bubba and Kenny!) about it being garbage. Amen.
While all these above items have played an integral part in my first trimester, I would like to share my one constant craving. Although I have not indulged yet, I really do catch myself wanting one meal and I am not sure why.
Don’t coat them in marinara or alfredo, all this baby wants is a simple bowl of butter noodles. I happen to think this should make the father of this child, who has already begun implementing cost cutting measures, extra happy seeing as how this meal is probably one of the cheapest meals I could ask for. Is a box of noodles even a dollar? I say this and now I will be eating noodles for the duration of this pregnancy.
And so that concludes my First Trimester Favs! I am sure there are more favs in store as we grow and bake this baby! Who knows what we will love next!

Don't you love those pregnancy cravings! My recent one has been PW's. So if you are ever in the mood for ice cream, call me! I'm also glad I made the list of the wedge users. :)
