Love That Dog

No words written will be adequate enough for Drake. The best words I could write are simple. He was just a good ol' dog. A dog with a heart as big as he was, a tail that was so mighty and strong it could knock you over, a lover of the water, a spirit of patience with little ones and a best friend. Yesterday, Bubba and I said a tearful good bye to our first "baby". Over the past six years, we have grown so accustomed to his slobbery greeting at the back door, his sigh of relief as he plopped down at our feet, his excitement over hearing the word "load" and even his stinky outdoor smell! We have watched as Charlie turned him into a reindeer at Christmas and had our hearts melted as Drake rested his head on Wylie's bouncy seat just to stare at her. He treasured his long wood walks with his hunting partner and loved his mamma for slipping him the cleaning out the fridge leftovers! Today our hearts have been sad as we miss our "good ol' dog!"

Never will he be replaced. Always will he be in our hearts.
