School Days, School Days...

Just know as I write this, I am fighting back puddles in my eyes! Which by line 5 of this post, will be full out crocodile tears!

Tuesday is a big day at the Bailey house! Can you even believe tomorrow morning my sweet little babies will be walking out the door with bookbags and lunchboxes headed for their first day of church preschool. Okay, now granted, they are 1 and their "schedules" for the day consist of playground, snack, diaper changes and free play but still.... they have a cubby with their name on an apple. They had a supply list! They have homework (seriously- really folks, 1 year olds with a "project"!!!) And don't even let me mention the fact that I had to hold back the tears in my eyes at the Parent Orientation meeting tonight simply because Bubba called me out on them!!! I know I have heard it a million times and will hear it a million more, but they are growing up so fast and "right before my eyes"! (Sniff, Sniff)

So, like any good mother who prepares her young for the world. I felt it necessary to hold a practice round with the bookbags! And boy, if those suckers weren't a hit! We began our practice round by taking what will become our annual back to school picture! ('Cause we know we all have one of those of ourselves in an album... therefore, so will my children!) Just look at these happy smiling faces. Too bad they don't really know what tomorrow holds!

Night Before Preschool 2009

And We're Off!!

You said "Get in the truck!" and that I did Mom!

You'll be watching for the mean boys? Right Brother?

I'm going to be the Teacher's Pet!

Let's take a bet... can I make it through Day 1 without going to "isolation time"?

Can it get any sweeter?!
No words perfect enough to caption this one... It just melts my heart! (sniff, sniff)
Dear Charlie & Wylie, May your first day of church preschool be filled with lots of trips down the slide, hugs from your teachers and smiles on your faces! I will think about you all day! Forever and Ever!

Like Father, Like Son

If you can't go be on the golf course, bring the golf course to you!

Today, the front yard of 709 Summerwood turned into a beautiful Par 3 course. Now don't get me wrong, it was no Augusta National, but it served the purpose! Yes my dear friends, Charlie officially met the game of golf today! And if the energy for the game that he showed today is any indication of things to come, well, then I am looking at a lot of Saturdays and Sundays with my 2 little beauties while Bubs and Charlie bond over the ball! I happen to believe today was a proud moment for Bubs!

Getting Ready!

Charlie's 1st Golf Lesson!

Teeing it up!

Going for the Green!

Reading the Green!

Ahhh, there ain't nothing to this game boys!

Chi Chi does it again!

Of course I made it!

Thanks Pops for the clubs!

Hmmm. This doesn't look like the ball but who will ever know!

Tiger started at 3. Charlie started at 18 months. Could I possibly be the mother of the next greatest golfer? My bank account sure would love that!

But wait...that's not all!

After posting this blog, I went to say good night to the babies. Bubba had put them down while I fed Bess. As I was feeling around in the dark for Charlie, I discovered Charlie's bedtime toy selection of the night! (No joke, he always goes to bed with a toy!) So... I had to grab my camera and share a priceless captured moment! Sweet Dreams Charlie!

If the shoe fits...buy it in every color!!!

In my memory box for Charlie and Wylie, I keep many momentos of significant events and such. In this box, I keep their first pair of shoes so I can always remember how tiny and precious those little feet once were! And perhaps, just like my mom, I will whip these little shoes out to display in some elaborate centerpiece at their weddings. Of course, I do believe people would also appreciate this pair of shoes, should I choose to one day display them! Meet the latest fetish of our household!

As all ladies know, walking in heels can be quite daunting! Not just everyone is cut out for contraptions that cramp your toes! However, our dear ol' friend Wylie is committed to the cause! After an intense training session, these pink sequin heels fit like a glove!

They were (and still are) such a hit, she decided to wear them everywhere!

Now, just as all good sisters and best friends do, a good pair of shoes deserves to be shared! Who better to share with than Wylie's BFF Bess!

But the sharing didn't last long. Wylie is clinging to her shoes so fellas (that comment would be directed at sweet baby boy Charlie )don't even try to run off with these high fashion beauties!!

Of course, Charlie, Mr. All Boy, saw great potential for these stunning gems! And what do you do with valuables you don't want others to find? You hide them in a safe place!

Then when your momma calls you out on your little doings, you say goodbye to your loot because it is probably going to be awhile before you get to play with them again!

But never fear, charmers like Charlie, know how to tug on your heartstrings and make you love them despite what just happened!

What love?!

I am pretty sure InStyle will be contacting us ANY moment now for a photo shoot for the upcoming September issue!

So these days, if you hear the clanking of heels in 709, it isn't from the momma. No sir-re. I believe in bare feet! The clanking of the heels will be coming from our supermodel herself! Oh does her daddy have his days of shoe buying coming for him!

So as the famous quote goes: Never stand between a girl and her shoes!

I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

Once upon a time, before there was a Charlie, or a Wylie or a Bess, there was the "Dance Party Room" at our house. Many nights and good times and extreme vocal talents have been witnessed by all our dear friends in the "Dance Party Room". It was on one of these nights full of good times when some person, who still to this day is a mystery, left a pair of sunglasses. Seeing as how most sunglasses grow legs and disappear in our house, we are still standing in amazement that this particular pair of glasses has made it through a move and 3 babies! Clearly, these sunglasses had a purpose in life to fulfill! So in honor of the sunglasses, the many good times in ye ol' Dance Party Room and a fantastic 80's songwriter, Corey Hart, the Bailey's present all of us Wearing The Sunglasses At Night!

Girls vs. Boys

Oh how different boys and girls are! The way they eat, sleep, talk, laugh- everything is so unique to their own personality! This difference was shown again today! And in true fashion, their personalities shine through loud and clear!

Wylie's Version of Bonding with Baby Bess
I'm right here "Baby, Baby, Baby Bess" (That is what she calls her!)

Can you see me?

Love for Baby Bess!
Now doesn't that just melt your heart? You might even have had a little puddle form in your eye.
UNTIL...
Charlie's Version of Bonding with Baby Bess

That's right! Here I am Baby Bess!

Listen Bess, Momma has been preaching one sermon here lately... I think you should show her YOU have been listening!

See, that is how we share!

Be patient. It is still my turn!

Okay, all done! You can have it back now! Thanks for sharing Baby Bess!

I have but one thought here- often I am asked, "Oh, are they (Charlie & Wylie) identical?" (Which makes me then want to scream and tell the person obviously not if one is a boy and one is a girl- but I don't because bless their hearts, they just don't get it) ... Anyways... clearly we can tell that Charlie and Wylie are far from identical!
Yet again, I stand amazed at just how different 2 children born on the same day and of the same age can be. Without all these little personalities my days wouldn't be complete! My heart wouldn't be as full and my life wouldn't be the same! Thank you Lord for my sweet babies and their beautiful personalities!

Why Hello! Nice to meet you!

I love and cherish all the little moments of discovery you get to witness as a mommy! I continue to find amazement in watching a baby learn and discover the world around them. Before babies, I never really stopped to think about how one figures out that there is a hand attached to the end of your arm. However, witnessing little events like this are priceless!

My arm feels a little heavy? Wonder what that blob on the end is?

Hmmm. Come closer so I can see you my dear!

Why looky here!

So that's a hand. Looks like something yummy to suck on!

YEAH for me! I found my hand!
