The Mystery Knot

Back in May, Bubba and I noticed a small knot on the side of sweet Benny Boo's face.  Immediately we began consulting doctors about this mystery knot in hopes of having it cleared up and gone. We have had many appointments, medicines and discussions over this knot yet no true diagnosis.  Thankfully, this week, Ben's recovery from the knot took a positive turn.

It was decided that we would have to surgically open, drain and clean Ben's mystery knot.  So, early Friday morning, Bubba and I loaded sweet Benny Boo up and headed for the surgery center.  To say I was nervous was an understatement.  I want more than anything to have this knot behind us but I hate the thought of my baby being put to sleep!

After we were able to get Ben's favorite Buzz Lightyear pajamas off of him he was happy playing cars on the hospital bed and holding his new Caillou doll!  He was a regular chatty Kathy!  Smiling, singing, playing around!  But, he did not like his green gown!

Before the surgery, the nurses brought Ben some medicine to ease his anxiety once they were ready for him to go back into surgery.  It was only a few minutes before we realized Ben was a little bit loopy!  Being the savoring every moment parents that we are... we decided to capture Ben's Loopy Moments for our little love to one day look back on and enjoy!

Once he was good and loopy... it was time to say Goodbye Knot!

Patiently, we waited and wondered exactly what was being learned about Ben's Mystery Knot.  Thankfully, after a bit over an hour, we had our sweet baby boy back in our arms again.  And boy was Ben ticked off!  he was more upset about the IV in his little ankle area than his actual incision.  After we could calm him down and get fluids in him, we were off!

Although we don't know 100% what Ben's Mystery Knot is, we are thankful his surgery went well.  Each day it is looking better and better!  I am just thankful he has been a trooper about his stitches and the drain.  He loves getting to pick out his band aid each day and if I use a box each day to keep him happy, that is what I will do!

Hurry up Benny Boo and feel better and get well!
