The Boogie Man

While upstairs cleaning the other day, I had a loyal helper by the name of Charlie.  During my deep cleaning of pencil and crayon markings on the wall, I asked Charlie to go downstairs and bring me back a scrub brush for those extra special crayon drawings he had left for me to clean! After my arm was practically about to fall off, I remembered I had sent my little love to get that brush and realized he A) had never returned and B) it was really, really quiet in my house.

So I walk downstairs to discover a trail of birthday cake crumbs from the counter to the floor.  Crouched in the corner under the counter, sat my little love who quickly said to me “I didn’t do it!”  (Sign #1 I was about to discover something Charlie hadn’t done!)  As he is repeating over and over that he didn’t do anything, this is what kept waving in front of my eyes.

Upon further inspection, this is what remained of the birthday cake sitting on the counter.

Clearly his finest manners were used in this little afternoon treat he so gladly helped himself to.

Best part:   When I asked Charlie how did Ben’s birthday cake end up like this, he quickly gave me a concrete answer that he truly thought I would buy…  “Mommy, the boogie man did it!”

So there you go, all those crayon marks, misplaced shoes, chocolate treats that go missing, are all the fault of the Boogie Man!  Who knew!!

Glad we solved that mystery!
