Ahhhhh, the beach! Isn’t life just perfect on vacation?! And, don’t we wish we could vacation all the time instead of having to snap back into reality!
This year’s Garden City Cousin Carnival proved to be a blast for all involved! A beautiful house, many laughs and the beach as your morning wake up view…in my book, that’s pretty much perfect!
Despite the fact that Tropical Storm made her presence in GC, we were thankful for a few beautiful beach days.
And, even though I felt like I was not doing an adequate job as the GC paparazzi, as I began editing my 1,000 (yes, that is correct) pictures, I realize a single blog post was NOT going to happen!
So we shall break this down- day by day, collage style!
Beach Day #1 was “pony tail” day for the girls! Everyone got their “dos” ready to beautify the beaches!
Essential beach gear for GC 2012- Boogie Boards and Shovel. Watch out, both could be potentially deadly!
Always a fan of the waves, these loves were all about the sun, sand and salty water!
Ben left his comfort of the bouncy seat he resided in last year and traded it in for the sand! When this little love was in love with sand, life was good. One little blip to upset him, and Whoa Nelly, I hope you and everyone around you are prepared!
Nothing like a cousin to help you get a good exfoliating rub on your head! There was plenty of sand and giggles to go around at this moment in our beach play!
Just relaxing…and having some deep conversation, I am sure!
Day #2 … it was a Debby Dreary Day. The sun was hiding, the wind was truly and honestly brutal at times and 6 little loves wanted to be outside. So the adults braved the weather and headed to the puddles on a walk! This was creative entertainment at it’s finest as our little loves were attacked by blowing sand and us adults did our best to distract them from the shivery temps and sideways sand!

Rough waters and grey skies filled our day!
But entertainment was always around the corner! Anyone up for a game of “Who Can Run the Fastest?”
Puddle Time! Although our teeth were chattering, the loves splashed, ran, jumped and found treasures! And yes, if one of these loves tells you there are volcanoes in Garden City and they found “lava rocks” on their trip…they are correct! It is amazing what stories an eager to entertain group of adults can come up with!
As we walked on the “volcano sand” 2 crazies took a moment to showcase the finest little booties on the beach!
Baby Ben just wanted to go Night Night and reminded me frequently that his foo foo and bottle were calling him!
But who could pass up a walkway for a Cousin Love pose? Not this snap happy group!
But despite the chilly breezes and blowing sand, these kiddos were BOUND and DETERMINED to swim! So swim we did! Thanks to our personal Party Rocker Uncle Chris, my 2 oldest loves perfected the cannon ball!
Just look at that form! Practically Olympic potential I feel !
And that was only Sunday and Monday!
