I am not sure if our first field trip of the summer could have been any more perfect! Perfect weather, perfect friends, perfect day… it was just fantastic!
Our caravan crew of friends headed to the Lazy 5 Ranch for a wagon ride of fun filled with animals, picnics and feedings!
Our first order of business was feeding the kiddos before boarding our wagon ride! It was quick meal because all the kids were too anxious and interested in their new surroundings to care about eating the “nutritious” lunches of Uncrustables and the life-saving fruit snacks we had packed!
For little people, this crew was very well behaved and patient as they awaited their horse drawn carriage!
And finally the “K B group of 20” was ready to board the wagon and proceed to the animal feedings! I am not sure if the kids were as excited as the adults! I for one, was PUMPED!
We were greeted with MANY buckets of animal food and immediately the animals were by our sides, waiting for handfuls of yumminess to be given to them by our little hands!
And that was just the first stop!! On our ride, we met so many animals! From deer, to warthogs, to water buffalo, to zebras, to llamas and the list goes on and on! The giggles and dirty hands were working over time on this wagon of fun!
But what was ahead would be one of our FAVORITE parts of the trip! Ginger the Giraffe! And being partial to giraffes myself, I was enthralled with snapping photos of this beauty so close to us! The kids absolutely LOVED feeding her and so badly wanted for her to eat from their bucket!
I am telling you… it was a feeding frenzy on this wagon! Ginger was one lucky gal!
And then… there was Ol’ Luther! All alone and covered in mud! Or as my children are still referring to him … the dinosaur!
Up next on our Field Trip of Fun were some of the biggest, literally biggest creatures I had ever seen. It seems to have slipped my mind what the exact name of these creatures is… just call them Gigantic Cows because 1) I know surely there in that family and 2) they really were GIGANTIC!
Let me interrupt this part of our field trip to recap the “call of nature” that my sweet girls had the pleasure of witnessing. Yes, the horsey had to relieve itself and Wylie and Bess had a front row seat! I think Bess’ eyes were as big as her head as she saw the horse going potty!
But back to Gigantic Cows…
We, really Bess, learned quite quickly, that not only did these “cows” have gigantic legs, they also had gigantic tongues that would kiss you! Yes, Bess got her first and hopefully only Cow Kiss right here at Lazy 5!
Oh how we shall remember Jimmy the “Cow”!
As our trip was wrapping up, we continue to find ourselves encountering more llamas and warthogs! Stopping to feed them all, we were smiles and giggles!
Now, the kids were ready to go ahead full steam but the mommas might have felt a bit like these zebras!
I had a wonderful day being a Momma! I feel sure my kids would vote to go back Lazy 5 every day of the week if I asked them!
Thank you friends for a wonderful field trip Friday to Lazy 5!
