Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jee!

I think it is safe to say we will never forget this road sign! This road just might quite possibly be the steepest road in the entire city of Maggie Valley. So, should you decide to embark up this treacherous road, I sure hope you have your snow plow attached to your rear tailer hitch , a set of tire chains and food for possibly 2 weeks. You just might need it!

The journey down began yesterday shortly after lunch. Clearly, I was totally prepared for subarctic temperatures and knee high snow! I sure was happy despite our little predicament!

As we descended the mountain, we were able to see this view of our house! It really was a great house! One I would surely go back to only if a Winter Storm was not in the forecast!

Bubba was super thrilled I felt that capturing every two steps of our journey down was a necessity! But, when will I have the chance to get a snapshot like this?! My children will thank me for the 900 photos of snow covered trees one day!

The crew heading down the mountain!

This is the view we were walking away from! Breathtaking!

Then we spotted them. Our Search and Rescue Squad! They (and their 4 wheel drive vehicle) were such a welcomed sight!

To Rock Hill I headed. Alone with my hubby on the mountain. He shoveled snow for a whole day and never got the driveway completed! There was only a small sprinkling to deal with!!

He was able to learn from a private plowing company today that someone coming up to that part of the mountain was not going to happen. It was then we began the alternative plan of the day.

So back to Maggie Valley Bubba's mom and I headed.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by none other than THE CITY SNOW PLOW and the Home Owners Association. They all had heard about poor ol' Bubs at the top of the mountain. It was in this small meeting we learned that on Paso Fino only the 1st road out of the 3 roads are technically within the city limits. MEANING... Bubs was STILL stuck and would remain that way!! Not to mention the fact that the city snow plow was in a ditch on the road due to the conditions of the ice and snow!

After all this new knowledge, he emerged!

My Mountain Man!

While our mini vacation may seem over, it is really just paused. Up on top of the mountain sits a crucial element to the Bailey Bunch transportation. Car Seats and all!!
And it can keep on sitting until the roads are absolutely 100% dry.
The important thing is, we are all home, safe and sound!
