Making a Photo Debut…

I proudly introduce to the world  Bailey Baby #4  - who appears to be giving us all a  sneek peak at his/her gymnastic capabilities!

baby 1

It sounds so far away when Bubba and I say this baby will be here in March.  But when you count the months and say, in 3 months it is Christmas and then about 2 months after that the baby will be here.  It sounds like this new addition will be joining our family before we know it!

Sure hope we can agree on a name before then because he or she might seriously be called “Woody Buzz” or “Cinderella” if not!

And now all I have to do is bake this baby!

I can now breathe a huge sigh of relief and Bubba can now have a conversation with me without me throwing all my crazy questions at him! After our visit in the dreaded “upstairs” office, I can confidently and excitedly report, Baby Bailey #4 is healthy and growing right along schedule!!

Weighing in today at 6 oz. and measuring right on track, our newest addition proved to be a mover and shaker. Our little love showed off some gymnastic skills by showing us mid-way through the appointment he/she could play with his/her toes! For most of the appointment, this little one kept his/her hands up near the face! While we were able to get a few good shots of the feet action, I am not sure anything can beat a profile shot! Luckily I got a few of those too!

This little one has had quite a high heart rate ever since we learned I was pregnant but today the heart rate had dropped to 157. I am totally not a believer in the heart rate myth anymore seeing as how after having a boy and 2 girls, I have seen it all so… analyze and think what you will. We still don’t know the gender!

Speaking of gender, after the first 1/2 of the ultrasound, I looked to Bubba and said I was positive I saw 3 lines meaning it was a girl. When the doctor did the 2nd part of the ultrasound and was more interested in talking than taking pictures of my belly, I saw what I thought was a little twig and berries! Despite the fact that we have been in a gazillion ultrasounds, we don't claim to be ultrasound techs and for all we know, what I thought was twig and berries could have been a toe so... only time will tell. While we will be thrilled either way! It is so much fun to think about what this one growing inside my belly could be!

Sadly, I can not post the pics of today’s appointment! They scanned in to dark and I must redo!

So check back for pics of our sweet new baby who is commonly called “Woody Buzz” or “Cinderella”.

A Ball of Nerves

Shortly after finding out I was pregnant with Bailey Baby #4, I came home one day to discover my mom had somehow slipped one of the best books under my pillow for me to find.

book

Every week, I love getting to read my spot in this book.  Each week, this book highlights what is the major development in the baby by using Bible verses and a special prayer for the baby.  It is amazing how each week the verse seems so perfect and just what I need to hear!

Tomorrow I am 17 weeks.  I have my anatomy ultrasound tomorrow afternoon.  Needless to say, I am beyond freaking out!  I hate with every morsel of my being having to go “upstairs” for any appointment.  The high risk doctors are knowledgeable and experts in their fields, but no amount of smart that they throw my way can take away the anxiousness and nervousness I have been feeling for the past month when this appointment was scheduled- or the nerves that I have about tomorrow.

So, since my thoughts lately have been totally consumed by tomorrow’s appointment, I thought it was a much needed moment of relaxation to read my book tonight.

The verses used for this week are:

A cheerful look brings joy to the heart.    Proverbs 15:30

How perfect is that?  Tomorrow I get to see,  for 1 whole hour,  this little one inside of me.  All I can think about is all of the “what if’s” that I might hear.  Instead, I was reminded tonight to be thankful and joyful about getting to see this one rather than dreading the moment!

The second verse couldn’t be more perfect.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  Psalm 139:14

Again, since I truly believe these words, nothing could be written more perfectly.  Especially for this week, my nerves and my thoughts.

While I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I will walk onto the 4th floor of Presbyterian tomorrow with my heart pounding, clenching Bubba’s arm and constantly saying my prayers, I hope I am granted peace and can marvel at the amazement of the moment and truly enjoy seeing this new life we can’t wait to meet!

Exciting Things All Around Us!

It is FINALLY here!!  Bubba and I have waited for months on end for tonight!  (Okay, well he probably hasn’t been counting down the days until tonight but he is showing a slight enthusiasm.)  Need I remind America that tonight is the return of the  best TV night of the week!  The DVR is set so we can begin our Thursday night ritual of starting our shows late so we can skip through the commercials!  Because like so many others I know, I will not be the only one on the edge of my seat watching Derek fight for his life or shedding a tear now that Dale is gone from the practice!  Yes friends,  Grey’s and PP are back and this house is

P-U-M-P-E-D!

And if that isn’t enough, tomorrow I will head for Litchfield for the annual 30th Birthday Bash expecting to see…

a little dancing like that ends up like this…

a feast prepared by handsome chefs that looks like this…

and super fun glasses that will NOT be filled with relaxing cocktails but rather Caffeine Free Coke!

Here’s to a wonderful weekend and all the exciting things around us!

Fall 2010

Today is the first day of fall.  For some, maybe this weekend they will begin cleaning out their closets ridding themselves of their summer clothes and making the switch to winter clothes.  No need for such a thing around here!

Around here, Charlie has come up with the perfect outfit to work around the hotness of the South despite the fact it is the end of September.  An outfit that give you the ability to remain cool in while still keeping that morning chill from being a nuisance!  Clearly this outfit is a trendsetter!

And yes… he chose it ALL BY HIMSELF!

(At least the greens coordinate --  somewhat!)

Game Day with The Bailey Bunch

Bubba and I braved the heat, traffic and surprisingly packed crowd this weekend to introduce Charlie and Wylie to the time honored tradition of Gamecock Football!

We have been talking about going to see the Gamecock players for several days now, so the anticipation of the day was about to be too much for us by the time our carpool arrived!   We were very in the spirit and shouted Go Gamecocks in most every picture (hence many photos below with mouths wide opened!)

100_5842

100_5847

100_5849

But soon enough we were in Columbia ready to see the Gamecock players “chase the ball” as Charlie says.   We tailgated and ate way too much food before the hike to the stadium.

100_5854

100_5856

“Go Gamecocks!”  says Wylie!

100_5860

Although 2 sets of little legs did NO walking but enjoyed the pleasure of being toted up the hill, our crew of 4 made it to our seats!  A little red faced, but we were there are ready for the Gamecocks!

Dear Ol’ Dad was a little worn out by the action of the seat finding plus the purchase of popcorn and drinks for our crowd!  Here my love is, letting out a big sigh of relief that he was finally in one spot and sitting!

100_5864

100_5866

Charlie and Wylie loved all the action of the opening of the game!  Cocky in the cage, the horns that went “toot toot toot” and the music to do a little dancing to in your seat!  Most importantly, Charlie and Wylie had their first experience of seeing and hearing 2001 done on the field!  I doubt they will remember it, but I am sure Bubba and I will always remember it for them!!

100_5870

But despite the action and entertainment surrounding Charlie and Wylie, we made it exactly 1 quarter  before Bubba looked at me and said “I’m ready when you are!”  The space allotted for Bubba, me and 2 toddlers was challenging therefore, we opted to head to the lot and watch the Auburn game instead!   Why put those poor Gamecock fans around us through the misery of 2 toddlers dying to move from space to space?!

And so again, 2 little loves were  once again toted back to the parking lot !

100_5871

The fun of the day was evident.  Wylie made it exactly 4 minutes in the car before we caught her asleep.  Charlie made it 10!  It was a wonderful Saturday to cherish forever!

100_5872

100_5876

But, despite all the fun we had,  it will be a while before we head back to a game with these 2 loves!  We (or should I say THEY)  need to understand the importance of staying seated for a decent length of time before Bubba and I can enjoy a game with toddlers in the stand!

What’s Going On At Our House Tonight?

It is just a plain and ordinary Friday night at the Bailey house.  Wait-  can you ever use the word plain and ordinary about this house?  Doubtful, nonetheless, it has been an evening filled with giggles and craziness.

To shed some light on our household this evening…

Bess could quite possibly wake up in the morning as a boiled peanut.  It seems as this child has a strong affection towards this delicious southern treat!  Thanks to her father, she consumed an over sized portion this afternoon! No surprise, the child couldn’t have been happier about eating a new food!  One of the thousands she calls her “favorite”.

100_5792

100_5794

I happen to hit a jackpot at the Target Dollar Bin yesterday when I discovered some new Tacky Gear for our little loves!  Being a newly proclaimed  Tacky Apparel Buyer, I nabbed these bad boys up!  Glad I can honestly say I only spent a dollar on this hideousness!

100_5814

100_5812

That’s right!  We are owners of Buzz Lightyear and Ariel socks!  Are we cool or what?!

While I intended for these to be an item we only wear around the house, my husband saw this little piece of apparel as an evening activity.

This is what he proceeded to teach our children to do in socks…

100_5805

What could be more fun than sliding on hardwoods in slick socks?  I can not think of a better Friday night activity!

Clearly, the children agreed!

100_5798

100_5804

100_5810

Despite a few giggling spills and a new assortment of bruises set to appear in the morning, this crew had a great time!

But let’s not forget Baby Bailey #4 who is measuring in this week about as long as a heavenly chocolate treat!

kit kat

Our 4 inch little love thinks my belly is a tumbling mat because this child has done nothing but move for the past 2 days!  And I love ever bump and prod I feel!

So, while many of you might have had a relaxing evening at a nice restaurant, sipping some cold beverages , relaxing after the long week you just put in, this family was running our usual 3 ring circus!

Again I say, never a dull moment around here!

Time Travels TOO Fast!

When I am looking at Charlie, Wylie and Bess, I find myself constantly thinking “This time last year….”    I use to THINK I understood what people meant when they said, “They grow up before you can blink.”  I am realizing each and every day, just how true this statement is.

One Year Ago today…

My little man was in his first days of preschool learning about firetrucks!

My little rule follower was already showing her love for learning.

And my littlest love was just plain chunky!

Can I freeze time?  Just for a minute!

Behind Door #1

100_5756

Behind Door #1 there is a surprise lurking!

100_5757

Welcome to Bess’ new secret club hideout!  Normally home to the mixing bowls and measuring cups, this perfect spot has turned into a safe get-a-way from her 2 older siblings!

100_5752

And boy does she love it!

She loves it so much, she laid quietly in her new safe spot for an entire vacuuming of the downstairs!

100_5764

Until she was discovered…

100_5771

and then kicked out!

Curious George? Nope- Curious Wylie!

Although Wylie would rather do pretty much anything other than sit down to watch a movie, she is no stranger to her brother's shows being on the tube. While I have been led to believe that Wylie doesn't pay attention to these shows, I clearly have been mistaken.
For recently, my creative little love, found a way to turn your ordinary, everyday stair rail into a tree limb. Usually you see George walking around getting into mischief and the man with the yellow hat helping him be saved from danger. In Wylie's world, Curious George should be getting into mischief up in the trees!
Enjoy Wylie's rendition of George!

There you have it! Such an imagination!

Little Eyes See Everything

Please understand that the post below is completely 100% true. There was no prompting involved in this situation by me! I was so completely tickled by the whole moment and so afraid it would pass before I could grab my camera!

This weekend, I realized a lesson I should have learned a while ago. The little eyes that surround me, see everything! Bess is no exception.

All summer long we have been in the trenches of potty training with Charlie. Now that he had almost earned his degree from Pee Pee School I realize how much I have harped on how to tee-tee if you are a little boy. When Charlie uses the bathroom he arches his back like no other in hopes of the perfect aim into the potty! This humorous pose has apparently been witness by his sister one time too many because after Charlie’s visit to the bathroom, this is what I witnessed!

100_5703

Acting just like her big brother, Baby Bess was throwing out her arms to the side and just grunting hoping she would be as successful as her sibling!

Despite nothing to show for her efforts in the potty, I am assuming there quite possibly could have been evidence elsewhere!

100_5706

Just when I think Bess is done imitating those she loves so dearly, I witness Bess doing her most recent impression of her dear mom!

100_5707

Seeing as how for the past couple weeks, this has been what I looked like when I was in the ladies room, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that this is what she did next. Either Bess was acting like me or she was checking out my cleaning job from earlier that morning! Happy to report, our potty was so clean it was shining!

Moral of the story: Be Careful Little Eyes What You See!

Hunter in Training

Golf Season at the Bailey house has ended and the Hunting Season is upon us!  Although Charlie has asked Bubba to take him to play golf, in the best interest of those at the golf course, he has not been able to play yet.  But getting ready for turkey and deer and all that other outside “stuff” that boys do… guess who has been tagging along!  Bubba’s little buddy!

100_5727

As you can tell,  Charlie dresses himself for these wood outings!  He knows exactly what Bubba means when he is told they are going on a “trip”.  And once Charlie hears of the “trip”, you better have the car ready to go because this is a young child of NO
patience!

Today, Bubba and Charlie invited all the girls on their trip to the woods!  While Wylie was thrilled, Bess and I really would rather have had a nap but we were NOT going to be the party poopers for the Family Fun Trip to Lockhart!

After accidentally stirring up a hornet’s nest, Charlie was deemed King of the Truck Bed and assisted Bubba in the unloading of a massive amount of planting seeds.

100_5728

100_5732

Charlie thought dear ol’  dad was doing a lovely job so he gave his dad a thumbs up!  However, he is a little confused on which finger to use for the thumbs up!

100_5730 After unloading, we all loaded up and headed into the wilderness!

100_5733

Down the bumpy fields we traveled to the deer cameras to check out all the action that had been going on in the fields!

100_5735

At one particular stop, Charlie became so excited as we pulled up and began yelling “I go  play in the dirt!”  Last time he rolled in the dirt.  Thankfully he left that adventure out of our fun today!  Today, he just wanted to pee-pee in the dirt!  Works for me!

100_5738

Trying her best to enjoy the adventure but not get dirty, was dear little sister Wylie!  She was just so happy to be included in the boy stuff today!

100_5739

100_5744

Just for the giggle, this was Wylie today.  All decked out in her Dora band-aid which SHE asked to be placed on her head.  Not because she had a reason, but because she felt she needed it!  Again, whatever keeps a smile on their faces!

100_5745

Yet again we loaded back up to check another camera!  This time we had a driver in training!

100_5746

And boy did he think driving Daddy Bubba’s truck  was extra cool!

All the while, in the backseat of our Crowded Truck o’ Bailey Fun there sat a precious little girl who just wanted to take a nap!

100_5749

Bless her bones!  Every time she would close her eyes, her overly excited brother would poke her eyes and tell her to wake up!

One day soon, my two favorite boys will be heading into the woods together  in search of turkeys and deer.  While Charlie wishes it would be this season, his loud calling of “Turkey, where are you?!” seems to be prohibiting his hunting journeys for this season!
