Loving the Beach – Part I

The Bailey Bunch survived a week of beach fun.  Complete with sand, sunscreen and lots of Ritz crackers and sippy cups!  We had a wonderful time playing in the sand and splashing in the water.  Actually, it probably looked more like adults chasing kids in the water but the little ones loved every minute of it.

Night 1 Charlie and Wylie slept in a double bed together by themselves for the first time!  This is what I found on a late night peek in.  Our car ride down was clearly very tiring!

But you didn’t have to worry about this group sleeping in at the beach!  No Sir Ree!!  We were up by 6 every morning!!  Not sure why they sleep til 9 at home but get to the beach and we are up with the seagulls!  So to the beach we headed!

The sandy atmosphere was perfectly okay for 2 of the Bailey Bunch crewmembers!  Charlie and Bess didn’t mind being sandy or getting wet by the ocean!  100_4822100_4846

However, I was very worried when this is what I saw most of day 1 from Wylie!   Yes, she is rocking her sand shoes and sitting on the only item under the tent.  The sand on her feet was a little much for her!

The little girls played happily on the beach when they weren’t waddling towards the water with no fear!

Pop Pop dug Charlie a big hole

that Bess soon became a fan of!

And eventually, the motto for the hole was “Come One Come All!”

Wylie found happiness playing in the itty bitty baby pool

before discovering how much fun the ocean really could be!

Baby Bess was so happy to splash around in the baby pool while the crowd was at the ocean!

Thanks to a $5 purchase from a local Wings store, Charlie was entertained for countless minutes with his new motorcycle- which he refers to as his popsicle!  Not sure why but he was happy so we went with it!

After Wylie had conquered her fear of sand and ocean water, we knew that we were in the clear!  By this point in the week, we had already learned a valuable lesson though-  One Adult = One Child.  Long gone were our days of beach chair lounging in the waves with our books!  This year we traded beach reading for sand digging!

Stay tuned for more Garden City Fun!

It looks like you did not get to relax and read the Kindle much, but I know the kids had a blast!
