Twas the Night Before Bess

Twas the night before Bess

but nobody knew

The exciting events

we were about to go through.

This mommy had walked

in the early June heat

around Winthrop Lake

on 2 very swollen feet!

She loaded up the car

and headed to the store

to find the Castor Oil

lined on a shelf near the floor.

That night the twins were nestled

all snug in thier beds

while visions of Elmo

danced through the heads!

Dear Lacey was called

and told to stand gaurd

Just in case the oil worked

and the contractions got hard!

Dear Bubba was cozy

playing games in his chair

He came to bed late

thinking he would be going nowhere!

But at one o'clock sharp

I knew we were ready

to get in the car,

to breath slow and steady!

With flashers we drove

probably too fast!

Excited to meet

this baby at last!

The family had gathered

still with sleep in their eyes

and huddled in a waiting room

ready for the surprise!

In no time at all

the waiting was through,

for Sweet Baby Bess

had made her debut!

One year ago today, these event above took place! Tomorrow my sweet Baby Bess will be one! I am in awe of how fast time flies!
Happy Early Birthday Sweet Baby Bess!

Your mom is right- you should write a Childrens Book! So cute. I feel like it was just last night that I got the call and now Bess is a year old!
