Weightloss With Wylie

Doesn't this face just scream "I'm innocent!"
On most occasions, not all, but most, this little face is pretty honest.
But lately, Bubba has been on a mission to conquer Baby Otis' weight issue. Although I am a firm believer that a good brush with the Firminator will quickly help Otis shed 10 pounds and that all dogs are just happier if they have a belly full of good ol' food, Bubba seems to disagree. However, if we really want to get to the root of the slow decline in Otis' weight, I think we found a culprit tonight!
Yes friends, this innocent face is guilty!

After hearing Wylie just giggling away tonight at supper, I overheard her say "Otis eat cheese." So being the ever so responsible mother that I am, I looked over to discover my child feeding our dog her supper! I must comment and at least be encouraged that she was at least using silverware to encourage Otis' good table manners!

And like all smart dogs, he stood there while she just fed and fed him. You may be wondering why me as the responsible mother did not stop this fine dining event, and that answer is simple. Wylie only believes in eating "do-dos" (doughnuts), "cheese" or "fench fies" (french fries) for dinner most nights. If this child wasn't eating her "cheese" she wasn't going to eat anything. And there are starving kids in Ethiopia, and we don't waste food, so might as well let Otis chow down! Or so I figured.

Meanwhile, the peanut gallery was full of belly laughs and happy claps for Wylie and Otis' meal time fun!

And what kind of mother would I be if I denied my children the joy of laughter!

Plus, Baby Otis is laying here at my feet as I type and I am sure his belly is thanking Wylie for his delicious supper. Sure beats his diet food!

Mud Madness!

How "all boy" is this?
A boy, a hose pipe and a puddle of mud!
Instant Entertainment!

And just when the heat starts to get to you, grab a quick sip of summertime hose pipe water!

But, fashion is always important, no matter what the occasion!

As usual, Charlie requires a hat to do even his most entertaining activities! Clearly, the most appropriate choice of accessories for this afternoon of hose pipe fun!

And when the mud puddle gets a little old- Otis' water bucket serves as a personal size pool for his royal highness!

Just as good brothers do, Charlie upheld his duty and showed Wylie just how much fun a mud puddle could be. However, do you think Miss Clean would ever be involved in such a dirty play activity? But of course not!

Scuba Steve

Guess what Charlie got tonight and absolutely LOVED?

A total hit for bathtime fun! Charlie could only giggle and say "geen glasses" or green glasses over and over!

Despite the fog in the goggles and the fact that they were on upside down, Charlie refused to allow us to clean the insides for him so he could see from his "geen glasses" or turn them to their proper position!
Charlie and the "geen glasses" truly had a bonding experience!

So much a fan of these glasses was Charlie, that he refused to take them off. And why take them off when they are a total compliment to your blue doggy pajamas?!

Plus, they are SO helpful when watching our favorite movie "Charlotte".

For fear that the glasses might disappear overnight, Sweet Charlie felt it a requirement to go to bed wearing them also.

Figuring out a way to take those off once he dozes off should be fun!

Sweet Charlie, always good for a laugh!

It's Only The Beginning For These 3

I hope one day these three share many giggles over silly things.

I hope one day these three ask to spend the night with each other.

I hope one day these three play a game of "Remember When" with one another.
I hope one day these three will call each other to announce their engagements!

I hope one day these three will enjoy afternoons of girly chats with their mommies!

I hope one day these three look at this picture and smile at a friendship that began so early on!

I WOULD LIKE to hope that one day these three would be college roommates, but with 2 Clemson fans and a Gamecock- probably not likely so...

I hope one day these three coordinate their Clemson Carolina football tailgating weekends with each other!

They may be 1 and younger, but these little loves will hopefully have a friendship to last a lifetime!
So glad we got to play for a quick bit this weekend friends!

Happy Tastebuds!

In an effort to pass 10 minutes of time by in a quite fashion, I gave Baby Bess a "prize".
After quickly learning her excitement and desire for these little pop of heaven, I think she would probably choose this as her every meal!
What is not to love about a Dum Dum?!

To the brilliant brains who invented the infamous Dum Dum pop! I sing your praises. Because of your scrumptious recipe for sugary sweetness, I can tackle so many obstacles. May the Lord above bless you forever!

Batter Up!

What better cheering section could a wonderful daddy ask for than that of his three beautiful babies and their lovely mother!

That's right! Tonight the Bailey Bunch headed to Cherry Park for some softball fun!

While I have absolutely no clue what the score was or if Bubba did anything spectacular on the field or at bat (althougth I am SURE he did!!)- unfortunately, entertaining and supervising the active 2 year olds and walk-a-lot 1 year old I had with me took my attention off the game!

Before the big game, Daddy needed a pep talk from 2 of his favorite fans!

But when it came time for Daddy to leave and hit the field, someone was NOT happy!

Baby Bess was busy, busy, busy as she walked all over searching for treasures on the ground!

And then, the little loves discovered a place that can entertain toddlers for hours.
The underneath of the bleachers!

After the game, Wylie was quick to congratulate her daddy on all his baseball moves!

Charlie was so excited to get to run around in the dirt after the game!

Knowing Bubba and his love for ball, and knowing Charlie and his love for any type of ball as well, I have a feeling my future holds many afternoons and evenings of ball games!
Wylie, Bess and I will make a fantastic cheering section I am sure!

The Trouble with Twins!

The trouble with twins is that even when you rock them while singing sweet lullabies, say their prayers with them and kiss their little foreheads good night, as soon as you close the door, there is just no telling what 2 year old twins might do.

Until after hearing all the giggles from the hallway, you open up the door to the nursery and discover...

One is playing dress up in rain gear

and the other is "cleaning" her sheets!!!! (no joke!)

So as a mommy who knows the importance of sleep but who can't resist the preciousness of the moment, we whip out the camera to capture the moment.

Just in time for rodeo rides on Baby Otis!

From the house where dull moments are few and far between...

Night Night!

Mommyhood

There was a time when I thought that being a mommy wasn't going to happen. There was a Mother's Day where I spent the day in tears because our baby was in heaven on Mother's Day and not on earth with us. And at the time, I thought my mommy dreams were over.

While today I am beyond filled with thankfulness and unmeasureable gratitude, I also can't help but think about girls who are like me. The girls who want so badly to be mommies and for some reason just can't. My heart breaks for the mommies who are "mommies" but their babies aren't with them today. I remember how today can be a miserable day.
I remember the morning I found a verse that all but reached out and slapped me in the face.

"Don't worry about anything, instead, pray about everything." Philippians 4:6

At the time when I read this verse, I was pregnant with Charlie and Wylie but didn't know it. My world at the time was filled with worry, hearthache, anger, grief, and nervousness. I was heading to a doctor's appointment and this was what I read before I left. I knew, then and there, things were going to somehow and someway be alright.

Today I can say, I am so thankful for the journey I have had to go on to become a mommy. While I still always wonder about our sweet first baby, I am thankful I at least got to hold him. I am thankful for someone so powerful who knew that even though I was in pain then, I would soon be filled with a heart so full of happiness as I learned about Charlie and Wylie! And later on Baby Bess!

There has been nothing in life I have loved more than being a mommy to Charlie, Wylie and Baby Bess. Nothing compares. With all that my heart and soul can feel and express, I love my mommy job more than I could have imagined. I pray these 3 loves always feel safe in my arms and know that they are loved unconditionally.

Charlie, Wylie and Baby Bess, Thank you for lighting up each and every day! You are treasures to me! More than any words can ever write, I love you.

E - I - E - I - O

Ol' McDonald had a Farm, E-I-E-I-O!
Banker Bubba took a break from the office life today to go on Charlie and Wylie's 1st Ever Field Trip!!! A trip to Cherry Place Farms! He along with a lot of other mommas (what a good daddy!) enjoyed beautiful weather and lots of farm life!

While I was so grateful and appreciative that Bubba could be their for Charlie and Wylie, I don't know that Charlie really felt the same amount of gratitude. He was much more interested in ALL the animals! He loved the goat until it whopped his hands with his horns!! He was trying to climb the goat's fence, so it probably could be considered self defense on the goat's behalf!

Both Charlie and Wylie loved feeding the animals!!

Wylie, the observant child, watched very closely the rooster do it's strut!

Charlie "mooed" and waved to the cows!

And then it was every boys favorite dream come true- time to play with the tractors!

Our future farmer, enjoyed her lessons in cow milking more though!

Thanks to a wonderful daddy for making Charlie and Wylie's 1st Field Trip a wonderful memory!
