2 Families of 5!

Bless the souls of the innocent ducks of Winthrop Lake! These patient little birds don't ask for much. A big pond to swim in, nice weather so they can waddle around the bank and maybe an afternoon where some kind and caring person who happens to have some leftover bread comes to feed them an afternoon snack.

On our most recent trip to Winthrop Lake we were fortunate enough to meet another party of 5. A Bailey Bunch in duck form, if you will! Yes, Momma Duck, Daddy Duck, and 3 little ducklings! It must have been fate!

Wylie was so intrigued! She absolutely loved pulling out the bread crust and tossing it to them.

She followed right behind them always making sure they had some food!

She loved seeing them up close !

My dear Charlie was a little less interested in the ducks eating habits! He found chasing the ducks to be supreme fun! So with red frisbee in hand, Charlie chased ducks until his heart was content! All the while, chuckling from his belly!

Here, there and everywhere he ran!

While this is a bit wobbly, enjoy hearing (and seeing) Charlie's afternoon fun with our new duck friends! His run was cut short as Bubba watched him getting his feet a little too close to these innocent creatures and had to end the fun! Imagine that!

Weebles Wobble But They Don't Fall Down!!

Today Baby Bess reached a peak milestone in her life.

Yes, my little weeble wobbled, but she didn't fall down!

Yes my friends, my sweet Baby Bess became a WALKER today! On several occasions this afternoon, Baby Bess made multiple steps from here to there without the assistance of my hands or the coffee table!! While I wish I had been able to capture the moment with my camera, I failed at the attempt! However, the memory of her little chunky belly in a too tight onesies with a huge grin on her face is forever embedded into my memory! And it makes me smile! Don't go thinking she doesn't love to crawl because that is still her mode of transportation of choice (other than my left hip) but, when in the mood, this little butterbean can waddle on 2 legs with the best of them!

I have known this day was coming. Lately, she has really been fighting the urge to figure out this walking thing. And while I am so happy my sweet little love has conquered a great feat, at the same time my heart is screaming, she can't be ready to walk, she was just born yesterday! Is it really time for this?!

But alas, it is and I shall have to face the fact that my little loves can't stay little forever! Despite the fact that I relish every moment of it!

So, here's to my sweet Baby Bess, the newest walker in the Thrill!

Two in the Same

While I was pregnant, it was debated greatly, just what would Bailey Baby #3 be? Would we have a playmate for Charlie or a sweet little sister? Either way Bubba and I were going to be happy and surprised on the day our sweet baby arrived. From the get go, Baby Bess has been pleasant, easy going and laid back. However, lately, Bubba and I are beginning to see more and more of her personality coming out!

Seeing as how out of our 2 families Charlie is the lone male, I often feel a wee bit sorry for the fella! Until lately.

Although upon glancing at sweet Baby Bess, or perhaps seeing her decked in frilly smocked dresses it would appear that this little love is going to be girly, gentle and tender, I am afraid Bubba and I have another Charlie on our hands.

In our playroom filled with toys galore it is possible that you could see Baby Bess chomping on teething toys or playing with Legos. But OH NO!!
My little one thinks she is as big and tough as her Big Brother! And while Wylie is busy feeding her babies or organizing her kitchen supplies, the other two are UP TO NO GOOD!
A little wrestle here, a little wrestle there!

Before any heartattacks are had over this picture, please imagine for one second deep baby belly laughs. That is all that could be heard as this timeless moment was captured!

But a day acting like Big Brother comes at a price. Skinned and scraped knees and maybe even a bruise or two might be found! But when the head hits the bed, this little one falls sound asleep!

So, I need not worry. While Baby Bess may be decked in bows or smocked outfits, she is following in her brother's footsteps. She is already showing us she has high hopes of being a climber, flipper, jumper and crib escape artist too!

All I can say is Bless the Bailey Bunch!

Dance To The Music!

The Bailey Bunch braved another Come-See-Me event on this fine and lovely Monday evening! We all put on our dancing shoes and headed to Glencarin Gardens for some good music and dinner!

Wylie was my only perfect child who would actually pose by some of the beautiful flowers in the garden.

Charlie loved to smell the flowers but also had a hard time refraining from picking them ! A big No No in the Garden!!

Thing started off a little rocky. Our eldest child has sadly grown quite accustomed to having time out under trees! While I am not happy we have to have time out at fun family outings, I was rather impressed when Bubba told him to have a seat that he remembered the tree was his spot! I imagine people around us thought we were strange to be ignoring our child who was crying very loudly as he sat under a random tree by himself but hey, you do what ya' gotta do!

Pretty soon, the tears had passed and Charlie was ready for action!

And what action could he possibly find in Glencarin Gardens. Only a bazillion birds to chase and terrorize! (Please notice the small helpless black blob in this picture. Poor bird. I bet he felt as if he escaped death after Charlie's playtime with him today!)

Bess was entertained by the simpliest of things. Flowers. She was fascinated by the blooms!

Can you even tell me this face isn't precious! ?
I melt everytime she does this quirky smile!

And then folks, it was spotted. That would be correct. Charlie spotted the super duper, extra large fountain or in his world " go swimming".

I love this! If this doesn't have "I'm a mess" written all over, what does! This kid could hardly take all this water and not being able to touch it.

So touch it he did! Much to his sister's disliking!

Bubba showed Charlie and Wylie the fish in the pond. I think had he not been holding them, Charlie would have been in there with them. He was half wet, so why not!

And what Come- See- Me Event is complete without Glen and Glenda!
Charlie loves the frogs! He gave them great big hugs and even danced with them during the music!

Although she finally warmed up to Glen and Glenda, Wylie was at first a little more reserved!

And so, another event is down!
Our action packed week of Come See Me fun is in full swing!
Watch out for the Bailey Bunch at the next function.
(Of course, it is hard to miss our herd at most events!)

Gourmet Gardens, Here We Come!

Just look at this crew! 3 lovely kiddos strapped in a ready for the action! Come-See-Me is in full swing and would the Bailey Bunch dream of missing a fun filled morning at Gourmet Gardens? Not a chance!

Even before we were even in Cherry Park, Charlie had spotted the "jump jump" and was ALL ABOUT them! For a brief period this morning, these were the only 2 words uttered from his mouth! And jump jump he did!

Except for when he had to take a breather through the mesh to inspect his surroundings! Wouldn't want to miss any of the action somewhere else!

As expected, Baby Bess was just content in the shade of her stroller! A sippy cup and some Target Puffs and she was good to go!!

All was going as planned until Charlie spotted the "copters".

Then, before you knew it, Uncle Kenny found himself doing his uncle duties and assisting 2 little ones onto the mini helicopters for rides!
Such a patient uncle dear sweet Kenny is!

Again, this was another aspect of our day Charlie was ALL ABOUT!!

Wylie, on the other hand, had enough fun on her one and only ride! Then it was off to bigger and better things.
#1- Baby Taylor! Oh how we love some sweet Baby Taylor!

#2- Target Puffs- can't live without em'!

Uncle Kenny and Charlie kept reappearing back in the same line for the same helicopter ride! Kenny showed excellent parenting skills to a 2 year impatient child! However, regardless of what Kenny said, all Charlie could say repeatedly was "Ride!"

And ride they did!

The Bailey Bunch had a wonderful time at Gourmet Gardens today! Yaya, Pops, Lacey, Kenny, Caroline and Baby Taylor, thanks for spending a hectic spring morning with us!
Can't wait to see what the rest of our Come See Me week has in store!

Gettin' Cornier By The Meal

Just what could make my sweet Charlie Rut smile so big at dinner time?
Only his new favorite food...
"Corn on the Nob"

It takes true skill and dinner table etiquette to eat "Corn on the Nob" with such manners!

However, if your jaw become a little tired from all the delicious chewing you are doing, "Corn on the Nob" on a fork also doubles as a handy, dandy hammer!

What a little handy man we have!

Of course, when you have partially eaten one "nob" it is then time to beg for seconds!

So, should you stop by for dinner, please expect "Corn on the Nob" to be served with most any meal!

Bon Appetit!
