2 Going On 22!

To all my fellow ladies out there- just how do we manage to do it? Be a stylish woman, maintain our fashionable selves and juggle our everyday chores, like coloring, reading, playing babies and swinging in the sun! Somedays I just feel so stressed at all the hustle and bustle in my day! If you feel anything like me, I know you are just glad when you can relax.
Ladies, I feel that keeping my secrets of how I maintain such a look would be unjust. So please listen up. If you desire to be as sassy as me, here are a few simple rules.

#1- Always look the part. A stylish pair of glasses that coordinates with your purse is so Vogue! For that extra sparkle or pop of color, I find that these days pappies seem to do just that! Some may say your blackberry is your best friend but I am a firm believer in Bunny Foo Foo 4 Life! Ladies, these are all thoughts to take to bed. Are you looking glam everyday like me?

Rule #2 I know time is of the essence these days but a true businesswoman never stops. Taking calls from your clients or calling to check in on your girlfriends is top priority when aiming to be successful! Be it morning, noon, or night! Just gab, gab, gab, until your heart is content!

Rule #3 Don't forget how sassy you can feel in a good pair of heels! Just think how great your calves will look! Choosing heels in colors that compliment your outfit is so overrated. Go for whatever makes you feel in charge!

Ladies, it is a tough world out there! Carry your pappies, Bunny Foo Foo's and oversized purses proudly!

He's All Boy!

Just in case there was ever any doubt, I am here to say, this sweet child of mine screams Little Boy! After last night's rains, I was forced to move around some of the backyard play toys. Much to our surprise and Charlie's delight, we quickly discovered earthworms had found safety in and under the toys. So when we moved them and discovered "urms", boy oh boy did Charlie have fun!
He began by first getting down on their level and giggling!

But why watch them wiggle on the ground when you can pick them up!

Even worms like to swing swing!

And to top off a worm's fun, why not enjoy a trip down the slide while piggy backing on your new found friend! (See worm attached to shirt!)

Yes Sir Ree! This love of my life is 100% ALL BOY!

Just glad he didn't try to eat them!

It Never Takes Much

It never takes much to make Baby Bess smile. I just never knew putting a bow in her hair could make the child happier than I have ever seen her before! She literally was so excited she was jumping up and down!

Today my sweet Baby Bess entered the club we all have grown to know and love- The Bowheads of the South!
And many of us know, there is nothing like a bowhead!!

Bunny Foo Foo Comes Alive!

This morning the Bailey Bunch grabbed our Easter baskets and headed to the church for some Easter Egg Fun! The first thing Charlie saw was a real live "Foo Foo". He was ALL ABOUT this!!! He broke in front of more people to see this bunny!! He kept giving him hugs and kisses and of course as we left would turn around and shout "Bye. Lee La (See Ya). Ave Un. (Have Fun)! Charlie really could have cared less about the rest of the event. This was quite the highlight for him!

This was Baby Bess' 1st Easter Bunny experience and thanks to a sugar cookie with icing, it was a good one!

I would love to say that my sweet Wylie also enjoyed the real live Bunny Foo Foo but she made it quite clear she was NOT going to sit on his lap or even acknowledge his exsistence! She was actually attached to the hip of Lacey and Baby Taylor!

While meeting the Easter Bunny was great, my crew decided that was all the fun we were going to have at the church today. Sadly, we were unable to attend the Easter Egg hunt on the playground! I was completely bummed but I think it suited Charlie and Wylie just fine to have an easter egg hunt in the backyard!

Where Oh Where Could My Sweet Charlie Be?

Night 1 of toddler beds, Bubba and I were floored to realize Charlie and Wylie actually STAYED in their beds. So why did we both think after that night, sleeping at the Bailey house was going to be a walk in the park? I can not answer that question because lately it seems that nighttime at the Bailey house is no where near a walk in the park.

Toddler beds = escape and freedom! And why would my sweet little loves choose to do anything but escape?! Every night, Bubba and I look at each other and say "Your turn" and one of us heads up the stairs to return the little loves to their beds. 30 seconds later, the other person gets the pleasure of this task! This can go on for 30 minutes or on really fun nights an hour!

While it is so hard not to giggle and cuddle with them on these return trips to their beds, we try to be consistent. But then you have nights like tonight, where you realize they are out of their beds. So you go upstairs where you are greeted by Wylie either sitting at the top of the stairs or peeking out of the door. So you put her in the bed, say night night and look for Charlie but wait... THERE IS NO CHARLIE!!!

So where oh where could my sweet Charlie be?

Tonight, he was pretending to...
yes, sleep on the pot!

And after that, he conviently found his way onto our bed and just snuggled up under the blanket!

Now just tell me, how am I not suppose to crawl in the bed and snuggle with this little turkey?

Could I love him anymore?!

Hopefully, we are down for the night! Sleep tight wild man!

Old Times Are Not Forgotten

While I was pregnant, Bubba and I received a card at a baby shower. On the inside were the words "Being a twin is special." That night, we and our friends, laughed at the set of twins who had given us that card. Although that night the card was meant to be humorous, I still to this day have it saved for Charlie and Wylie one day to read.

Regardless of if the words written on that card were intended to be a joke or not, they were words of truth.
The more Bubba and I watch Charlie and Wylie, the more we see that "bond" they seem to have developing each and everyday. They have "conversations", the sit and laugh at each other for reasons we are completely unaware of, they watch out for each other and even call themselves "Charlie Wylie" sometimes.

Charlie and Wylie are miracles, blessings and the answers to countless prayers. They are more than special. I hope they always treasure their unique bond and have each other's backs they way they do as 2 year olds!

Bubbles, Bubbles, Everywhere!

Spring and bubbles. Don't these 2 go hand in hand? Today was the first time this year that Charlie and Wylie have gotten to enjoy Bubble Fun! Bubbles cause smiles that are contagious!
Today was no exception!
Despite the fact that they did play with bubbles last spring, this year they are able to do more and really enjoy (or try to enjoy) blowing bubbles!

Wylie acts like she wasn't a fan of the bubbles blowing all over and around her. Don't let her fool you. She loved it. Until she saw on leave the smallest of specks on her clothes.

Then she was D-O-N-E!

Charlie developed his own version of blowing bubbles which really consisted of him eating the wand! His face after each bitter blow was priceless yet he did it time and time again!

Sisters shall do what their brothers tell them. Wylie was clearly not a fan of the taste of bubbles!

She was able to master the art of bubble blowing today though!

Charlie gave up on blowing (or eating) bubbles and decided to just head for the good stuff!

Spring is here. We hope! Warm weather and many playdays are headed our way!

Talking with Wylie

This afternoon Wylie was doing an usual afternoon routine, walking around the house with my cell phone, keys and lunch box, or rather her purse, and just a jibber jabbering! It was only when I placed her in her seat for dinner that I realized she had actually called Bubba and really was talking to him. Enjoy their conversation! As you will see, it was rather serious towards the end!!

On a funny note, while on the phone, Bubba asked Wylie if she had to go to time out today. She said "yes" and then started laughing. The little turkey!
Oh how I love this little one to pieces!

My beautiful babies, I love you more than any words can write. You are my everything.

May you always feel "safe and sound".

Two Year Olds Time Out

Time Out. A place my children frequent these days. If we happen to be downstairs when a time out is needed, Charlie and Wylie know just what corner to head to. You can be in a completely different room and utter the words time out and they head to the dining room and take a seat in their corners. It is routine.

Upstairs time out is a different story. There really isn't a good corner up there that has proven to be effective so if a time out is needed while upstairs, Charlie and Wylie know to go to their rooms and sit on their beds. At least that is what is SUPPOSE to be going on in the room during time out.

This morning there was a definite need for time out. So Charlie and Wylie were told to go to their rooms and sit on their beds. After the crying had subsided, the room became all too peaceful with no sounds to be heard. I thought, "Great...maybe they needed a little power nap!"

Ummmm.... Not so much!

As I opened the door to have a serious heart to heart with my children about being sweet, this is what I saw.
Powder Party in Time Out!

Charlie was quite amused with his creativity. He had only managed to cover 1 side of his face in powder in the midst of covering his bed, Ernie and much of pretend Drake in the room.

All boy and never afraid to have a little fun!

Wylie, who although she acted totally uninvolved in this whole event, was just distraught over the mess she had on her pants.

Then she became overly concerned about the mess on her bed. Acting the whole time like she didn't have a single hand in this! We know better though, sneaky girl!

Thank the Lord for vacuums!
And thank the Lord for my precious babies, who despite throwing powder parties while in time out, brighten every day of my life!

Full

From the fullness of His grace,

we have all received

one blessing

after another.

John 1:16

To say my heart is full of love is an understatement. To say she brightens my day is not adequate enough.
More than any words could ever say, I am head over heels in love with my blessing from above!

Happy 9 month birthday happy girl!
