Our Day in Numbers

Maybe it is the summer or maybe it is because I have been trapped at home with no car big enough for my crew to travel in for the past week... whatever it was, over the past week, I began to think about the number of times I (or we) do certain events in our day. Now, some may think I am referring to events like the number of sippy cups I refill in 1 day or the number of quiet minutes my house had as three adorable angels napped. Oh no friends, I am not talking about those types of events. I am talking about events that are rare but seem to be pretty ordinary in my world these days. The events that make you step back and giggle because all you can do is laugh about them. If it weren't for the laughter, you might decide to do something rash- like eat the entire tub of Tollhouse cookie dough that has been hanging out in your fridge, staring you in the face each time you open the door to refill the sippy cups! So lets cut to the chase... this is a true account- sad as it may be, I actually counted these things to provide ya'll with the most accurate count possible!
9,724- The number of times Charlie insisted on banging my measuring cups together as I fed dear sweet Bess and could do nothing about it!

446 - The number of times my little chefs felt it necessary to empty out their two favorite drawers- Wylie's BOWL drawer and the serving spoon drawer while I folded laundry.

283 - The number or Q-tips Wylie picked out, one by one, from the Q-tip box in my bathroom drawer while I changed diapers.

197 - The number of times I heard an Elmo remake of a nursery rhyme or song from one of Wylie's favorite Elmo books. She really likes the "play" button on this book. Thank goodness for Energizer batteries!

115 - The number of times Charlie closed himself in the pantry trying to see the light go on and off as the door closed and then realized it was too dark and couldn't see the knob in order to get himself out of the pantry! Mom to the rescue!

92 - The number of high fives I had to supervise Charlie give Baby Bess! (How adorable is this?!)

76 - The number of times Wylie became upset because her Bunny Foo Foo, blocks or bowls were so quickly whisked away by a "mysterious" little culprit!

41 - The number of kisses Bunny Foo Foo got in one day!

25 - Number of toys Baby Otis was able to convince Charlie to throw over the deck and allowed mommy to go chase after! Innocent looking dog isn't he!

And finally...

1,000,000- number of times I felt so thankful to have three precious babies to spend my summer days with!

Bless Her Heart!

Wylie discovered a new fruit this weekend! Blueberries! She loved them. In fact she loved them so much, Bubba and I bought her a gigantic tub of blueberries from Costco! So yesterday morning, I loaded up her plate for breakfast. All was going well until... Wylie was hit with a case of HIVES!!! From her head to her toe, we could quickly see Wylie + Blueberries do not equal LOVE! Is this just not the most pitiful look you have ever seen? Of course, in this picture Wylie was posing for her daddy so she was really turning it on for him!

I just look pitiful. I am still my sweet little self though!

Can you take this?! Her whole body is covered!

Should I milk this for all it is worth?

So, after discovering the HORRIBLE HIVES from yesterday had gotten worse over night, I immediately went into mommy mode. How quickly can I get her to the doctor? Who is going to hold down the fort so I can get her to the doctor? Poor baby, is she itching? All these questions start racing through my head. Lucky for me, I didn't have to look far for medical advice!

Recently, Charlie has decided that in addition to his wonderful array of talents, medical advice should be added to his extensive list! He saw all the fret going on about Wylie, he decided to do a little research for himself to scope out the situation! What a good big brother!

Simmer down, WebMD is our friend mom!

Here, take 1/2 tsp of Benedryl and call me in the morning!

So... now we know! Wylie, although she so thoroughly enjoyed her short lived experience with blueberries, she unfortunately will not be having anymore! Thanks to Doctor Charlie, we know just how to treat these bad boys and are on the mend around our house!

Modern Day Cinderella!

For all those who had no clue, Wylie is often called the "Shoe Fairy" at our house! She absolutely loves to get into our closet and rearrange all the shoes, analyze them trying to figure out how to get them on and then (and this is the best part) relocating the shoes to a surprise location for Bubba and I to discover later! Well, leave it to Wylie to play Cinderella. Except instead of having a prince help her try on glass slippers, Wylie's prince helped her try on Red Wing Boots!

My prince has arrived and he is carrying boots!

Okay, I can do this by myself!

Well, getting them on this way was much easier!

Is this a good look for me?

NO! PLEASE! It is not time for bed! Just a little longer!

Prince, come back here!

Recently, in digging through some old photos, I came across this old photo of Wylie's prince playing with his Uncle Charlie's boots. It seems that Bubba's clone gets her love of boots honestly!

Happily Ever After

Once upon a time, there was a little toe headed boy named Bubba!

He was raised by a caring and loving family who made sure to capture wonderful and priceless moments with a camera!

Many miles away, there lived a beautiful onion head named Kasie.

She was also raised by a terrific and loving family who made sure to encourage sisterly love!

One glorious day December 6, 1997 (to be exact) the grown (and handsome) toe headed boy asked the beautiful (and apparently graceful) onion head out on a date after a Troubadors concert! We could end the story here and say the rest is history but what fun would that be?!

The two soon became all googly eyed for each other and despite some, oh shall we say "interesting" times, the two love birds shared many of life's expereinces together. Such as...

NWHS Prom!

Graduation!

A fun filled First Week!

The wild nights of USC!

After many years of dating, the grown toe head decided settling down was the perfect step for the next chapters of the love birds lives!

Engagement Morning Nashville, TN

The fun didn't stop there! The wedding preparations made for even more memories for these 2 love birds!

On June 21, 2003, the two love birds joined hands and were married in a beautiful ceremony followed by a fantastically fun reception! (Would do that day all over again in a heartbeat!)

The fun was only beginning for these two wild in love kids!

They became travelers and skiied the West!

Made (and continue to make) some UNFORGETABLE moments with dear friends!

They always try to do what they can for each other! Regardless of what it may be! (Didn't Bubs make a great Clifford! YEAH for being a school teacher!)

And they always try to find a good laugh with one another!

The years continue to go by for these 2 love birds and all the memories that are being made are priceless and treasured!

The blessings of 2 babies!

And the surprise of a 3rd blessing!

So on this day of love and bliss, I am so thankful this love story is mine! The tears, fears, laughs, giggles, hugs and kisses make the story of the little toe head and the onion head perfect in everyway! To the one who has my heart- thanks for it ALL!

Forever and Ever Amen!

Happy Anniversary!

Lovin' On Bess!

I can only imagine what was going through Bess' head this morning as all the sibling love was being given out by Charlie and Wylie! Oh to only be able to read poor Bess' mind!

So how has Charlie adapted to Baby Bess being brought home? Answer: Totally Unphased! For Charlie, this whole baby thing is like Christmas. There are new toys, like bouncy seats and swings, for him to play on! Other than getting slightly curious to find her when Bess does make a sound (which is rare!), Charlie has carried on with his happy go lucky self just as normal! However, when Charlie does have the chance to be near Bess (under heavy supervision from an adult!!), Bubba and I find ourselves saying "Be nice" quite often. Then, as only Charlie can do, his face lights up with a smile, or is it a smirk, usually followed by a giggle!

That's right! You are looking at Bess' Fearless Protector!

A kiss for my little sis!

I wonder... what should I do with this?

Oh boy looky! What a great hill for my car to drive over!

Should've known I would get in trouble for that! Mom says to give you love now since she took the car away!

And then there is Wylie! Ever since Bess has come home, Wylie has been my right hand man! She is a part of all Bess' activities during the day from diapers to feedings! She likes to bring all her treasures and prized possessions and lay them on top of Bess while she is feeding. She is such a sharer! What a sweet heart she has! She is very concerned about Bess in the mornings and walks from her room to Bess' room saying "B" which is what she calls Bess. Wylie can often be spotted giving Bess "love" or hugs and kisses! Already she is a wonderful big sister! I have had to move a small stool from downstairs up into Bess' room just so Wylie can peer on her tippy toes into Bess' crib. It melts my heart it is so precious!

Still looking good here mom!

Love for Bess!

Okay Bess, now I have something extra special for you!

Meet some of my best friends Bess!

My bowls and Baby Bess... What a wonderful world!
