A Very Merry Christmas!

What a wonderful 1st Christmas Charlie and Wylie had! Bubba and I loved every minute of watching them play with new toys, hide under wrapping paper, stuffing them in empty boxes and acting like kids again as we played with all their new goodies! It was a wonderful Christmas and a special one when we thought about this time last year... we were anxiously waiting on the day we would get to meet these two loves of our lives! It has been an action packed 10 months full of smiles, laughs, memories and love! And the best part is, there is so much more to come!
The day began at our house where we all got up at the early hour of 6:00am to begin the day of fun! Charlie and Wylie were thrilled over their new shopping cart! Wylie gets a little upset when she pushes it into a wall but other than that, this little purchase has provided much entertainment!

Charlie also discovered his own cell phone. Sorry ladies, he was a little too busy entering all his girlfriends into his Contacts to look up for this picture!

Next we head to the country for Christmas with the Bailey clan. Wylie wasn't thrilled when she was decorated in Christmas bows ...

but she sure loved giving her baby doll kisses!

Charlie was just thrilled to get a big ol' truck! It makes all kinds of truck sounds and boy can he scoot on it!

"Any of you ladies need a ride?"

Lastly, we headed to the Rutland crew for one last stop from Santa. Charlie was glad to have his big truck to ride on because he was quickly surrounded by Princesses and Fairies! He loved sitting in his new chair and playing in the wrapping paper!

Wylie thought all this Christmas stuff was too tiring and decided to take a load off in her new chair too! Charlie even tried to get her to rally and come play. She told him, she was just fine where she was! Then Wylie was invited to her very first tea party in Ella's new Princess tent. She really enjoyed eating the "food" at the party!

Finally, everyone reached a need for a nap! We headed home to nap and play some more!

"Watch out Wylie! I'm a coming through!"

Christmas 2008 was so much fun thanks to the love of family and friends! We are looking forward to next year when the newest member of the Bailey Bunch is around to add the memories, excitement and love!

O-R-E-O!!

So, I am a big fan of always having a little something sweet after a meal. I rarely remember a time at my mom's house where we didn't have something sweet to eat after dinner. To top it off, I have an extreme weakness for cookies, especially being pregnant. Needless to say, we always have a stock. And it is probably going to be double stuffed!
After dinner, Charlie and Wylie had eaten so good and we had had such a good day, they deserved a little treat! Just check out the before and after of their first OREO! Pure happiness written all over their faces! Priceless!
BEFORE

Wylie, of course, had to investigate and decide if this delicious treat was worth her time. Charlie was just thrilled to not have a black eyed pea in front of him!

AND AFTER

Wylie was ALL ABOUT THAT!!! She truly wolfed her OREO down before I could blink my eyes! Charlie savored every bite. He did begin eating his by first trying to taste the white stuff in the middle. Eventually, after not being able to figure that out, he just chomped down on the cookie!

An Action Packed Weekend!

The Bailey's have had one busy and eventful weekend! A weekend filled with many "firsts"! Check out the short version of our weekend of fun!

To begin, on Friday, Santa sent a precious reindeer to the house! Actually, Santa has 2 reindeer at our house but only one would cooperate! Santa was so nice, he even left a little momento behind. Lucky Uncle Jeffery got the honor of playing reindeer with Charlie and Wylie!

Saturday was a big day! Charlie and Wylie got their first pair of shoes! I have loved their precious little feet and couldn't stand not seeing them so this was the first time either of them had been in shoes! I must admit my eyes puddled up just a bit in the Stride Rite store! Charlie got a stylish pair of tan shoes and Wylie got the old fashioned white walking shoe. Thank you Yaya and Pops for our new shoes! Charlie was not as cooperative for pictures during this monumnetal occasion. Wylie had some strong opinions of the shoes. She refused to walk in them. She would look at her feet and cry. The picture below truly explains how she felt about her shoes on Saturday afternoon! We believe she was saying "Hmmm, how big of a fit should I throw now?"

Saturday evening, everyone had a little fun before bedtime! Who knew a basket could provide such entertainment! Charlie thought it was hysterical to see Wylie hanging out in a basket and Wylie thought she was hot stuff!

Then came Sunday! Charlie and Wylie were invited to the Annual Brazzell Gingerbread Decorating Extravaganza! Charlie was a busy body into everything but the gingerbread houses. Wylie was thrilled to play with Will and loved eating her gingerbread house and Charlie's! Mom got the pleasure of going as my extra set of hands! She left messier than Charlie and Wylie! Thank you Mom for getting messy with us! It was a messy first that was so much fun! Thank you Burns for inviting us!

What a weekend! We had so much fun! Can't wait for this week to see what Santa has in store for Charlie and Wylie!

A Letter from Charlie & Wylie

Dear Dada,

We love you very much! Everyday you give us really big kisses and lots of hugs! Thank you for working so hard to take care of us! We are so lucky to have you as our daddy! There is one thing though daddy... we sure are tired of having to be wrapped up in all these blankets and wear tobogans just to eat everyday. Mom sure does think it is cute but she has told us about your favorite phrase from back in the days "Layer Up!" We are not so sure we like that phrase. Thank you for calling the heater man a million times a day but it is time to step up your game. Get down and dirty with 'em daddy! Tell those silly men to get their tails out here and give your sweet babies some HEAT! Can't you tell those men your sweet babies shiver when they eat?! Who could resist fixing a heater when they knew that?!

Even if the big bad heater men don't come and get it fixed, thank you for trying to do all you can to keep us warm! And yes, we are just as happy as you that our bill will be lower this month! We have discussed this and we think what you are really trying to say is "I'll go buy you something fun with the extra cash this month!" But maybe we are just crazy and plain out wrong!

We love you very much! You are a great daddy!

Love,

Your Little Layered Up Sweeties!

Hello from Baby Bailey and the latest Bailey scoop!

Baby Bailey wanted to say hello to everyone! (note the wave gesture in the pic!) We were fortunate to get to have an ultrasound today at our appointment since Baby Bailey was being stubborn and would let the heartrate be picked up on the belly machine. Of course I immediately began praying and freaking out but was quickly calmed down once I saw our precious one and could clearly see the heart flickering on the screen! Boy or girl? We will not know... heart rate was 166 which is what Charlie's fluttered around at the beginning and what Wylie's was in the range of near the end so we all shall remain in a guessing game until June! We head back after the new year for the "hard core" ultrasound from the upstairs doctors. So we will get some really good pics next time.

In other news from the Bailey household, Wylie is thrilled to be walking!!!! Doesn't she just looked pumped about it!!! She is still a little wobbly but she is up and moving! She must be related to Bubba and me because she does really well walking towards food! It is quite difficult though to get an action shot of this new accomplishment!

Charlie and Bubba have been having some deep discussion under the tree! This is a picture of Bubba and Charlie setting up the tree! Lately, Charlie is FASCINATED with cords ... so Christmas trees with pretty lights.... just another element of excitement for our household!

Gobble Gobble!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

The Bailey Bunch had a wonderful 2 day Thanksgiving Feast! We ate Thursday with the Bailey clan then headed to the Rutland clan on Friday for another round of yummy food! Charlie and Wylie loved it all! Turkey, ham, stuffing, gooey cakes... they had a sampling of it all! Wylie just seemed to soak all the food in. I really think she just sucks off the flavors then she spits out the actual food. This seemed to be the trend on Friday anyhow!

Charlie on the other hand, couldn't get enough food to eat! He truly was double fisting his ham on Friday acting as though someone might take his bite from him if he left it unattended! He ate more food than Ella (who is 4!)

After lunch, Charlie had a large time playing with Uncle Jeffery who created rap songs for him to dance to!

Isn't this a handsome pair!

And finally, the princess taking her Glamour Shots!

Bubba and I are so blessed and thankful for Charlie, Wylie and all our family and friends! Our family hopes your Thanksgiving was just as wonderful as ours!
