Fantastic Friday

The pleasure was mine to join my favorite set of five year olds on an incredible field trip this past Friday!  Since the flier came home in the Homework Folder, I have been hearing about Lazy 5 and the field trip from C and W!  Having the day finally arrive, was practically like Christmas morning for them!

C and W's entire kindergarten class was eager to board the bus and head for the Lazy 5!  To be honest, I at first would have said the most exciting part of this field trip was going to be the bus ride!  That is ALL these 2 talked about on the way to school Friday morning!  They already knew who was going to drive the bus... Mrs. Smith!  Their teacher!  I giggled because sadly I knew how incorrect they were!  Bless!

There were animals galore at Lazy 5!  And of course we petted them all!

Well most of them!  This guy was a bit slobbery and the large sign warned us NOT to touch him! But isn't he precious!

And this guy had a sign saying he would bite!  He did whistle at me though which I found flattering!

And bless the slow little turtle! Just trying to move from one spot to the next!  Such a chore!  I felt sorry for this little guy!

Once the crew was corralled together one last time for a redo picture, we were ready to board the wagon in search of hungry animals!

One of our first friends we met was this aggressive and very hungry little guy!  He was super fast and would peck the food out of your bucket before you could have it hidden from him!

Charlie had little fear when it came to feeding the animals!  He loved it!

Wylie was a giggle girl at first!  She was a little unsure of the drool coming from some of these very hungry animal's mouths!  She just laughed!

But quickly she realized she was going to have to get over the slobber and embrace the moment!  So off she went to feeding the bunches and bunches of animals that our trip introduced us to!

My MOST favorite part of Lazy 5 is this part right here!!  The Giraffe Area!!  I think these guys are the most beautiful creatures!  Having slept with a giraffe named "Ralph" my entire childhood, I have always loved them!  I LOVED getting to see both my little loves feed this beauty and think it was the best thing ever!  They were in heaven!

Wylie was super excited to have her BFF with her throughout the day!  These 2 were two peas in a pod at the Lazy 5 Ranch!

The tongues on these animals at the Lazy 5 are something else!  I have never in my life seen something like this!  They are seriously as long as your arm!  The kids thought this was hysterical!  Wylie was ALL ABOUT feeding these guys!  Never a moment of hesitation in her little body!  Me, I was often distracted by the drool that would be blown from their mouths and fly through the wind at us!!  Yucko!

And Luther... Oh how I have heard about Luther!  Luther is the very famous rhino who lives at Lazy 5!  My children watched a video where he sneezed on someone and that was it... they were in love with Luther!  The excitement of this kindergarten wagon was electric as we rolled up next to Luther!

It might have been a bit stinky at time (literally) and I might have left with 9 pounds of dusty food pellets on my hands but every minute of the field trip with these 2 little loves was worth it!

I am so thankful for their love for school, their love for learning and the moments like these.  These are just two of the best blessing in my life!

 I love you C and W!
Lots and Lots!

Wylie Wins!

Earlier this week, Bubba and I learned some very exciting news regarding our budding artist Wylie!  Through her afternoon art class teacher, Wylie had been entered into a local Blues and Jazz festival art contest!  This week, when picking her up, we learned Wylie had WON for her division!   Needless to say, Bubba and I were thrilled about her accomplishments!!

We waited until the night before to give Wylie her big news!  While I am not so sure she totally got it at  the moment, I think she did understand our happiness for her accomplishment!!!

Saturday morning was a big day as she did her own hair, got dressed and headed off to her Awards Ceremony!   My heart was so happy for her!  My little "baby" girl is such a "big" girl all the sudden!!!

  The  prize winning work!!

Thrilled with her $25 dollar cash prize!!  She was practically a millionaire!

So what do you do with $25 in your back pocket?!?!  Head STRAIGHT to Target and spend, spend, spend!!   Wylie was quick to make her decision and purchased more art supplies for herself!

I am so thankful Wylie is finding out who she is!  She loves art and enjoys every part of it!  I suppose we knew it way back when because she was quick to pick up coloring and was very concerned with staying in the lines at an early age!!   I am grateful my little love realizes she has a talent and she loves to use her talent!!

Baby girl, you made your mommy and daddy so proud!!  We are so happy for you !  Your smiles and excitement over this accomplishment have been incredible and I wish I could have captured every one of them on camera!!  You are a talented little girl and I know the walls of our home will continue to be decorated by the many art pieces you create!!  Keep drawing and making the beautiful art you are already making!!  We love you lots and lots and couldn't be prouder of you!!
