A Bit Confused...Yet Completely Sure...

Maybe it is because he is in a house full of older siblings, the "baby syndrome".  Maybe it is because he is totally adorable when he does it and realizes his mother thinks (at the moment) nothing else is cuter, therefore, he continues to do it.  Maybe it is because he truly thinks he is correct... Regardless of how I try to rationalize it, Ben and his completely untrue yet totally hysterical statement, have me smitten!

Ask Ben how old he is and without fail or hesitation he replies
"I five."
Not a doubt crosses this little love's mind upon his answer.
Not only will he tell you
"I five."
But he will also tell you
"Ca-Ca two."  (Charlie two.)

In fact, anyone besides Ben is two.  Grandparents, parents, other children...we are all two.  Occasionally someone will be three, but that is very rare!

So, maybe he gets it.  At the moment, he is the "baby" on both sides of the family and for this momma, I am holding on tightly to all these little "baby" moments.  I will pay for it one day, I know.  But not today!

He is so proud to be five!
How in love with this little boy am I?!

Lots and Lots my sweet Ben Ben!

Passion for Pinkalicious!

It is overly safe to say the girls in this house are Crazy for Pinkalicious!  We read the books over and over.  Lately, that is Wylie's favorite book to hunt for her "school words" or her sight words in!  We are head over heels in love with Pinkalicious !!

Thankfully for Christmas, Rah Rah realized our passion and got us tickets for the spring showing of Pinkalicious!

We began our afternoon decked out in our Pinkalicious gear and had a pretty pink party!!  Complete with cupcakes covered in pink icing and pink lemonade!  It was perfectly pink!

What would a Pinkalicious show be without Pink boas?!?!  Bess quickly dressed up ready for the event!

Pinkalicious even left us a "treat" outside to take pictures with!  Pink Balloons!  How perfect!

The cousins arrived and RahRah and her little girls were ready for a trip to Charlotte for the show!  Pinkalicious in the spring was perfect considering our flowers completed the picture taking event!

All aboard the train heading to Charlotte!

Waiting on the train was hard for this little love!  She was so ready to be "fancy" and dress in her crown!  Wylie truly soaked every bit of this trip in.  She was a total people watcher!

But finally, after all the waiting and after the small yet doable line we stood in, and the counting down on the watch...it was finally time for a wonderful performance!  Wylie was glued!  She noticed every detail there was.  Bessie Boo, who was a bit under the weather, slept for the beginning but rallied for the ending of the show!

It was a wonderful afternoon and I am fortunate that we had the chance to do this!  Thank you RahRah for a Pinkalicious Day!  It was Perfectly Pink in every way!

Come See Me Is Here!!!

Ahhh the excitement of Come See Me and spring!  With the beautiful weather lately, all events have made for happy kids and easy entertainment!  Where would we be without Come See Me in the spring?!

We kicked off our festivities with the Parade!  The Bailey Bunch was ready and waiting for the parade and to see Daddy on the float!  Wylie thought all the beauty queens in the cars were princesses, Charlie loved seeing his Daddy on the float, Bess although she really didn’t seem to enjoy it would clap every now and then but Ben was All About It!!  He clapped, he waved , he pointed at all the characters!  The evening was a success!

There was one float with a rock band on it.  Clearly Ben thought it was less than enjoyable! He chose to cover his ear to show his support!

Thankfully, you don’t have to wait long on Kick Off weekend for more fun!  Chalk On Main provided the afternoon Friday entertainment for all ages!  Charlie, Wylie and Bess created a make shift soccer goal and thanks to the free beach balls a quick game of soccer was started.  It was super windy and this activity was perfect for my active group.  Ben’s mood was a bit grouchy.  Really a bit grouchy is an understatement.  We tried to just maintain the peace with him through this event!  Love a moody 2 year old.

Saturday’s events are some of our favorites as a family!  Gourmet Gardens is filled with jumpy jumps, rides and money munchers!  Then what could be better than funnel cakes and fresh doughnuts to get everyone in the best of spirits!   Thanks to some Cousin Love and sweet friends, these little loves had a wonderful morning!

Ben is no stranger to some sweets!  Even though this funnel cake wasn’t a cupcake, that is what Ben chose to refer to it as!!  Who needs a fork anyways?

Be.Still.My.Heart

Are there even words that do this preciousness justice?!

Probably not!

Ben loves to sing "Sunshine" every night.  Perhaps even better than us singing together is how he says "Gen (again) Momma" the moment we finish!

This love has every fiber of my heart and soul wrapped so tightly!  I love you Ben Ben!

Spring Break Stories!

The old saying "Time flies when you're having fun" was certainly true this past week!  From sun up to sun down The Bailey Bunch as jam packed with events!  Spring Break 2013 was certainly a success!  Boy how I wish Spring Break could be 2 weeks long instead of just a week though!  I need a week to rest after my week of fun with these loves!

Our week began with a bag by experiencing Franky's Fun Park in Columbia and the zoo.  I was a bit worried as we drove into Columbia with the monsoon rain beating on my windshield!  Thanks to some quick thinking, Franky's Fun Park filled the time for us while the skies cleared and the rain departed!

This indoor play park for my crew was PERFECT!  They were contained and happy!  I could sit down!  Day 1 of Spring Break was going great!  Ben had NO FEAR and was quick to show me he was in fact 4 not 2 like I think he is!!  Typical Momma Wylie was quick to offer assistance to little man but he realized after about 2 rounds of her instructions he had this fun park down!

While I thought I had a genius plan to take kids to the zoo on spring break, once I arrived I quickly realized every mother in South Carolina had this plan too!  The crowds might have been a bit much but the weather was perfect!  The kids loved hanging out with their friends and seeing the animals!  There was no fussing or complaining, so all was well in my world!

Ben loved waving "hey" to all the animals in the zoo!  So precious!

Love my sweet little loves to pieces!

Day 2 of break was a stay at home and play kind of day!  Perfect for the 9 loads of laundry I needed to do and the closets that seemed to be striking in my on-the-market house!!

Thankfully the weather was beautiful again so outside the kids went and to work I went!
Playdates with friends and Toy Story helped us survive this gorgeous day!

Recently, Ben has discovered his undying love for Buzz Lightyear!  While Woody is great, it is really Buzz he adores!  On this showing of Toy Story, Ben found it most appropriate to have his friends, his costume and his blanket alongside to make the experience top notch!  Before you knew it, Charlie had joined in the fun and there those 2 sat for the entire movie!  YEAH for costumes, brothers and entertaining movies!

Meanwhile, the girls were working on planning their "party" in the playhouse!  This discussion was super serious and the food menu sounded delightful!  There were many trips taken from the playhouse to "Target"!  In a snap, these 3 loves had turned wood chips into birthday cake and cookies with pink frosting!  The conversations from this playhouse were priceless!

Being the good dad Bubba is, he arrived home one evening with one of our favorite things!  We all love them but Ben has a strong affection for this delightful goodness!

I will not admit to how many he might have eaten on this day!

While our break did try to trick us and throw us some cold weather, nothing could have dampened the spirits of 2 prissy little girls!  These 2 have enjoyed many playmates in their room this week where they have attended dances, held concerts, cared for babies and so much more!  However, one night they decided to dabble in the field of cosmetology!  Bless our souls!  They were truly "Bow Heads" on this night!  And loved EVERY minute of it!

Thankfully Baby Ben doesn't really know the difference because I can assure you his older brother was not going to have any part of this craziness!  Thank you Ben for being your sister's "doll" sometimes!

The week ended with a milestone of sorts!  Bubba conquered the Cooper River Bridge Run!  I went along for moral support and for the fun day!  Although, we would have argued with you on Saturday because we were CERTAIN we were once again in college and 22...Sunday arrived and reminded us we are NOT in college, we do have kids who require a lot of entertainment and the idea of eating Grouchos and dozing off in the sun on the back porch was NOT going to happen!  However, the word FUN doesn't really describe our weekend!  We had a wonderful trip and couldn't have asked for  a better want to wrap up Spring Break 2013!

And thanks to my long lost brother, who though my name was Valerie (yes he introduced me as this?!?!) and he was also called Ernesto for the day (again ?!?! not sure?!?!) ... Thanks for the hospitality, fun day and most importantly the INCREDIBLE LAUGHS from our weekend!
Love ya!

The countdown for summer is on!  Let's hope these school days fly by so we can have more incredible weeks and weekends like this!
